Past Updates
2:40AM 9/9/99 - This is Sir Tenzan†'s RIFTS Gallery's 3rd year on the net, having been created three years ago today. A lot has changed in this period of time, but probably the most significant change is taking place on this very day. It is today that I have modernized the main RIFTS Gallery and given it's new spiffy appearance, utilizing the wonderful tables so many businesses on the net seem to prefer today. I hope you like the changes as much as I liked making them. *smile* Here's to another wonderful year on the net!
2:05AM 9/10/99 - Today I updated Bladesmith Armorers. I added some background information to the company itself, including the president's name, where the people who own it come from, and I rearranged, reorganized, and fixed a lot of vague information, fixed some figures, etc. Check it out, I think you'll like it!
7:30PM 9/10/99 - I just finished updating the man Desert Star, Wa-Daisho, and S-Mart pages updating them to the new look. Check them out, and tell me if they are any better than they were before.
12:21AM 9/13/99 - I just gave the links page the brand new look, updated the links, and now it should be all nice and spiffy! *grin* However, there are two pages that will be removed shortly, only to be replaced onto a new page. ILLEGAL Palladium Pages. This will be a list of pages that have been deemed illegal because of reprinting of data either out of the books, which is ABSOLUTELY against the rules, or off of my web page without my permission.
12:32AM 9/14/99 - The situation with Lithin's RIFTS Page has been taken care of, as he has since removed the Guardian Power Armor from his sight. Appearantly he was unaware that I had made the write up of the Guardian, since he got the stats through a third party. As such, I have returned this page to my list of favorite RIFTSsites.
8:47PM 9/14/99 - I misunderstood what was on display on Logix RIFTS Page, thinking that he had the skills and spells from all the books on display on his page, but upon closer inspection, I see that it is merely a list, and so...without further adieu, it's on display on my links page!
12:05AM 9/15/99 - I updated information on the TW Items Page, The Red River Valley Gaming Group Page, & Palladium's Internet Policy Page. Check them out if you'd like!
5:53AM 9/15/99 - Tons and tons of updates today, The Custom Power Armor Page got a face lift, as did Samurai Creed, Adventure Central, OCCs & RCCs, as did the Official Errata Page! Most notably, is an all new written life story of Nyan Tamya, complete with a picture of what he looks like! Check it out!
1:33PM 10/3/99 - I have updated the Red River Valley Gaming Group site, with the dropping of one campaign, and with a tad bit of news about the RRVGG's appearance at ValleyCon.
6:18AM 10/7/99 - The RRVGG Monsters section has finally been added to the page, after over a week of putting all the data into HTML. Not half of all the monsters are on the page just yet, but I will be adding to this list slowly. A link has also been added on the OCCs & RCCs page to the Oligam, one of the monsters recently added. I did this because the Oligam is more or less peaceful, easily playable, and is not justified by having the title of monster.
5:22PM 10/8/99 - Okay, all sorts of updates to write in here from the last couple of days. Where to begin... I've added two monsters to the monsters page. Due to common interest among fellow gamers, I have also rebuilt the Megaversal Nexus here on my tripod sight, where the old D-Shift used to be. It's open to public, so drop in once in a while. I've added links to all the major pages, leading to the Monsters and Megaversal Nexus pages. I've also polished up all the main pages a little bit, by sorting out the data on the directory bar a little better.
3:51PM 10/20/99 - Sir Tenzan†'s RIFTS Gallery has been awarded the Palladium Elite Award for this month, and because of such, the award has been added to the Main RIFTS Gallery.
11:52PM 12/23/99 - It's been a while since Sir Tenzan†'s RIFTS Gallery has been altered in any way. Today, I added the S-Mart Aircraft listing, and typed up the S-Mart Javelin Interceptor. Check it out!
9:12PM 1/25/00 - Wow! Time just flies doesn't it?! Over a month since the page has been edited. Anywho, it's been a long while since I've worked directly on the RIFTS page, since I've been working mostly on an aircraft index, for aircraft from world war II. This will however, have a section devoted to RIFTS fans, for aircraft related to RIFTS. I have even contemplated writing up a directory of aircraft in addition to this that would include much more than WW2 aircraft, but that's all up in the air - pardon the pun. In any case, the only true update of Sir Tenzan†'s RIFTS Gallery has been the removal of the old style chat room, and the replacement of it, with a "BeSeen" layout chat room. It is again a private room, with a similar layout to the Palladium Chat Room, but it is not a Javascript room - sorry. In this room, there is logins, but it's VERY easy to get a username and password. Anyway, I hope it turns out to be an improvement over the touch and go chat room from Volano that used to be on here.
9:10PM 1/27/00 - I ran across an old character that I had made up back in '95 or '96 some time, that had kind of a unique history and background to him, so I figured instead of just throwing him away, along with the history and background I slaved over to make it an interesting play, I'd post his race's history and background, as well as his unique O.C.C. on my page. I figured some REAL role players out there might appreciate it! Check it out, his race is the Akonian R.C.C., and his O.C.C. is the Peacebringer O.C.C. - really nice stuff, check it out!
12:31PM 1/27/00 - Kind of a lot has happened to Nyan Tamya since I entered his character background and such on his page, so I've updated it a bit.
8:10PM 1/28/00 - In the same stack of stuff that I found the Akonian R.C.C. & Peacebringer O.C.C. in, I also ran across a folder with tons of stuff in it. The stuff in it contained my father's take on RIFTS Singapore! Now, we've only used some of the stuff in our campaign a couple of times, and even then usually it's just in passing - but so much of it was just so cool, that I couldn't just let it go to waste! So, without further adieu, take a look see at Tony May's version of RIFTS Singapore.
10:16PM 4/10/00 - I have added maps of Wa-Daisho & Desert Star, as well as pictures of the Harvey, Maxwell, Atlas, Zipper, Stonewall, Dustfish, & Banshee - as well as added a bit of edited text.
8:18AM 6/8/00 - Been a while since I've added any kind of updated material. In our game we needed the S-Mart SMF-4 "Stiletto" converted from it's original Shadowrun "Rigger Black Book" text, so after doing so I figured that this morning I'd HTMLize it as well as add the photo right away. Check it out - it's SWEET!
10:26PM 8/24/00 - A long sabbatical from web design has finally been ended today. I have now to present to my fellow gamers the S-Mart A-1 "Assassin" converted from it's original Cyberpunk 2020 "Maximum Metals" text. It took a great deal of effort to convert this aircraft, and work it to fit into our campaign, exactly as it has been used since my initial conversion of this aircraft. Eventually, from one aircraft, it has grown into four distinctly different versions of the Assassin, not even to begin on the vast variety of underwing stores capable of being carried by this aircraft. Check it out, you will not be disappointed in "The Most Complete, RIFTS Based, Ground Attack Aircraft on the Net". Additionally, I have worked a little bit in cleaning up a few older files. The SMaircraft.html page was patched up, by changing the old COCOCO gray to a nice clean looking white, and the text to a smaller size. The Power Armor Design Sequence's Rockets & Missiles page also received a much needed face lift as well. I still have to add a new section to this page for wings, as suggested to me ages and ages ago by a fellow gamer, and a page for CS designed experimental power armor units. For now this is all though. I do hope to, in the near future, update Wa-Daisho as well, with a clickable time line that will show what was going on in the Republic during different periods, for various peoples games. I realize not everyone has advanced in years clear up to 119PA!! I want to do this so very badly, because the Republic of Wa-Daisho has just grown so much from a place to semi-retire my main character, to a real player in world politics. It's military has received a new face lift in our campaign, because of all the North American strife as well - which I do want to fully explain, but all I need is time .... precious, precious time...:o)
12:44AM 9/14/00 - Well, as of a few days ago SirTenzan's RIFTS Gallery turned 4 years old! Woo hoo! Well, the projects lately has been composed of some VERY in depth work on Wa-Daisho, concerning the economy, prices of general things, and so on and so forth. I'm trying to draw as vivid of a picture of it, as can possibly be made of a fictional community. :o) Nothing is complete, however if you'd like to take a look at it go to Economics and take a look at what I've got so far. More recently, tonight to be a bit more specific, I've been adding directories to my Tripod site. Having over 300 pages and pictures in total gets to be a Loooooong load even for a 44K connection. Anyway, I didn't realize it at the time but a LOT of links and pictures would have to be switched around for them to function normally now that they're on this new sub directory. Some pages because of this, are currently down - most notably everything from Monsters all the way down on the side bar list is likely to have problems, plus perhaps a few side links on some of the earlier listings. I am positive however that all of the Power Armor Creation tables function normally, as I went all the way through them. I'll try to get back to it to finish editing as soon as possible. Thanks for your' patience.
12:24AM 9/15/00 - Egad... after close to ten hours of tracking down all those little gremlins in my page, I think I finally got everything working up to the fashion that it was before the directory alterations. Going through all of my masses of information, I realized that I REALLY need to update some of these pages. Some of these pages have been the same since I first started this page four years ago!! Egad! Hopefully now that I'm back into the habit of editing this site, I'll come back and do it more easily. I've got a ton more info to add, and a ton more info to alter around. Wish me luck!!
2:14AM 9/27/00 - A steady round of alterations have been made to my web site for the past two weeks, off and on. Most of the updates have been in Wa-Daisho as mentioned previously, mostly in the areas of the military. I've updated the Wa-Daisho Navy, Army, Air Force, and Armored Units - and have a GREAT deal of information to add on the Tenzan Elite, including their roots under King Tal Kilenian back in 103PA! I also plan on adding data on uniforms, unit markings, and perhaps even insignia data. I also want to add additional, more specific data on vehicles used by Wa-Daisho, and some pictures as well. All in due time, I know... It's a weakness and a virtue to never know quite where to draw the line as far as detail is concerned. I have also added one vehicle to the site, a new hover tank used by Wa-Daisho's Armored Units as of 117PA, called the Masakari. A new RIFTS page has made it's debut on the net, and has requested that I add a link to my page leading to this page called the RIFTS Highway. It looks like it's got the beginnings of a very good looking site - so give them a look see, and drop the owners a line of encouragement! While adding this new site, I also checked over my old links as well, and found, much to my dismay that both the Knightline and @mbience's all original page, are both gone now. I really liked both of those pages - so if any of you happen to see them elsewhere on the net, let me know!! More updates are bound to occur to my page in the following weeks. If there is any specific data you or your' campaign group are looking for concerning this source material, PLEASE let me know. I would be happy to help.
7:36PM 9/27/00 - I added the new and improved Tenzan Elite page under Wa-Daisho - an extremely lengthy history, of the Mercenary Company that is older than the city it is based in. Cool stuff! Now onto the Allied Naval Fleet....
12:11AM 9/28/00 - I added the updated information on the Allied Naval Fleet - those of you drawing up the history of a complicated kingdom/nation, do yourselves a favor before you start making up vehicle types and such - draw up a time line!! :oD My next step is rewriting the information on the vehicles and ship types used by Wa-Daisho. I still have a long where to go before everything is finished...
11:14PM 9/28/00 - Yet another Wa-Daisho update today. I added the first picture online of a suit of Red Devil/Tenzan Elite body armor. I also added pictures of the rank badges on the military structure page. Lots of reforms being put together...
6:23AM 9/29/00 - I finished up editing the WD-BGL20, and added a picture of it as well. Just working down the line...slowly but surely!
11:10PM 9/29/00 - I edited the WD-LP1 section, AND added a picture to boot, today!! No clue when this streak of ambition will end, but I hope it is LONG after Wa-Daisho is finished!
6:26AM 10/4/00 - You know what is more difficult than writing up a vehicle's stats from scratch? Trying to figure out just what the |-|#!! you were thinking when you wrote something up four years ago, and then rewrite it! I got the first of the actual vehicles rewritten for Wa-Daisho, the S-Mart Katana Gun Boat is now on the net, and ready to skim onto the scene of your' role play to act as an awesome party driven vehicle. I added tons of new data, revamped the weapon systems listed, and generally gave it a much better look. It is now finally appreciatively displayed via a picture aptly given credit for at the base of the page. I really like the way it turned out. If you happen upon this page in the future, and would like to see just how BAD that page looked before, just let me know and I'll send you the old draft of it, and you can laugh with me! Check it out, you'll like! Furthermore, with the rewrite of this page, sees the Katana finally making it's debut as the FIRST of the S-Mart watercraft line! :o) I'm not really sure if and when I'll ever get around to that part of the page, but I'll try! :oD I'd be happy if I could just get through the rewrite of Wa-Daisho without running out of ambition! Additionally, I also rewrote the RFFC-17 section, and revamped it, and the other pages that mention it accordingly with new data, while I also added a brand new picture of the RFFC-17. Admittedly this is a modified picture of the RFFC-19, but what I tried to do by modifying the picture was to make it VERY similar looking, since it is the 19's predecessor, but heavier, and much more bulky.
1:34AM 10/7/00 - I finished editing the Blackshark Class Patrol boat today, and even drew up a nice little picture to go with it as well! :o) The vessel pictured, is largely based on the modern 190' German Assault Boat, of the Albatross Class. I found a few pictures on the net, and it looked so much like what I had in mind - that I had to use it as a basis. There are several obvious additions, and some things that had to be removed as well - but over all I think it looks really good. A lot better than just staring at a page full of statistics! I can hardly wait to do the rewrite on the Javelin Class Battleship! THAT is based on the Yamamoto!
5:35AM 10/9/00 - The cheesiest name on my database, ContraCat is no more - the Wa-Daisho Navy Torpedo Boat known as the ContraCat, has now been renamed as it was in our campaign a LONG time ago, and has been rewritten. It doesn't look that bad now - but still doesn't have a picture. I E-mailed Maryann to find out if she'd let me scan the Iron Heart Armaments Black Eel picture to use, since it is in fact a modified version of the Black Eel - but until I hear back from her I won't know whether I can or not. IF the answer is no, I'll draw up another picture on Paint Shop Pro - hey, it's not Breaux but beggars can't exactly be choosers! :oD
12:57AM 10/12/00 - Over the last couple of days I've done quite a lot of work on the pages. I added two pictures the day before yesterday to the NOMAD Body Armor Page. Tonight, I rewrote the material around it, then rewrote the information for the LPL-7A and the HPL-7B, plus altered around the wording on the images themselves. I think it looks a lot more presentable now. Now, you're probably wondering - "Why is he working on Desert Star Stuff?? I thought he was rewriting Wa-Daisho?!" Simple really - can't have an Allied Naval Fleet that involves forces from Kyatashiro, Wa-Daisho, AND Desert Star, without rewriting everything related to it! :o) Eventually, everything that branches from Wa-Daisho will be rewritten, given a bit of luck! :o)
12:18AM 10/16/00 - LOTS of work having been done today! I was kind of distraught that I hadn't worked on anything for a few days, so I got cooking today. I changed ALL of the pictures of the S-Mart weapons used by the N.O.M.A.D. Military forces in the Allied Naval Fleet. They look a lot better, and perhaps even a bit more realistic now that I've reworked them. I also finished the rewrites on the RFFC-19, HC-2, Kyatashiro Samurai Armor, and the Copperhead power armor. I even started in on the Dalmir Class Submersible Carrier but it'll be a while before that is completed. I DO have a picture ready for display for the Dalmir Class Carrier which will really bring things into view in that part of the game - but I'll wait to put it up until after the rewrite of that page is done. One further note, that the S-Mart HC-2 is no longer classified as a Hand Cannon, as I thought that just sounded corny, so I renamed them ISC-2, for Infantry Support Cannon. I believe I did catch all of the links to the HC-2, and change them to ISC-2, but if I missed any, please let me know!! You will also note, that the Copperhead now has a picture as well - but is obviously hand drawn, and only a few steps over being a stick figure! :oD It was drawn by your's truly, and is just meant to give you kind of an idea of what the Copperhead might look like. I also added a picture of the Kyatashiro Samurai Armor, which I think came out pretty nicely. It is shown in the colors of the forces Kyatashiro has dedicated towards the Allied Naval Fleet. Enjoy!
9:06PM 10/18/00 - I finished up the Dalmir Class Submersible Carrier today, complete with operational history, and all that fun jazz. I also updated it a tad bit, changed around some of the weapon systems a bit, and refigured the troop compliment. I figured on there being a lot more people before, but when I really started figuring out all of the specifics, if you have that many people on board of a vessel, it's not going to be much more efficient as if you just had a standard crew on board. Anyway, so that's refigured. I got rid of that cheesy anti-grav thing I was going to write up eventually, because frankly it bored me - and if it bored me, IF any of you are actually reading all of this stuff, it probably bored you to gnawing on the third knuckle of your' fingers... Anyway, next on the list is the Kyoto class carrier, but before I do that I need to go back and do some editing on the Blackshark page, ANF page, and the Wa-Daisho Navy page. I actually figured up the dates of when every ship in the Allied Naval Fleet was commissioned, and so figured out the fleet number they would have been issued as they were commissioned, thus, now I need to change the bogus data to stuff that's backed up via dates. *groan* Why am I such a number cruncher??
11:05PM 10/27/00 - Well, I seem to be slowing down a bit. Perhaps because of all the extra work I'm putting into the Javelin class battleship. From one page it's grown to a whopping three so far! It is no longer going to be based on the Yamamoto, but instead it is based on another japanese battleship design that fit better what I was picturing in my mind. One of these three pages, is a story based on the Imperial Kyatashiro Navy IKN 13 Shogun's exploits as a Privateer vessel! The battle describes the events of a battle in the English channel against a pair of Triax XS-400 Escort Battleships, which were escorting a half dozen freighters. It is pretty vivid, and even a bit morbidly fun! :oD Click here to read that story! I'm still steadily working on the text of the Javelin class Battleship and am putting a LOT of detail into it's background. As I'm sure you've gathered I prefer to have mounds and mounds of history surrounding what would otherwise just be a whole mess of technical stats. I hope you enjoy the work I've been doing! Drop me a line sometime to let me know what you think of my recent works - namely most of Wa-Daisho, and the Allied Naval Fleet.
6:33AM 11/2/00 - Yaaay! The Javelin Class Battleship is now complete, and has to be the best design work I've done to date. Operational histories, two drawings of the vessel, and even a short story about one of the vessels has now joined the ranks of my page to come to be the Javelin Class Battleship! :o) I apologize for the Javelin being broken down to two different pages, but it all wouldn't fit onto a single text file, which is what I do all of my HTML writing on... Anyway, I hope you enjoy it all in any case, because it's been a real pleasure to do this kind of a write up - with that kind of complete data. Almost without a doubt the next on the list will then be the Battlemaster Class Cruiser, then the Whiteshark Class Patrol Boat... then I get back into Wa-Daisho, to do the Air Force and Army revamping. Fun, fun! It's hard to believe that what got me into doing all of this work was realizing that adding all of that economic detail to Wa-Daisho would be a wasted effort IF the other, older material was not of similar quality. Sooooo I finish up the older stuff first, then finish drawing up the details to Wa-Daisho's economy. :o) As if that isn't enough work, in recent weeks it's come up in discussion, of there being other, smaller towns on Vancouver island now more or less known as Wa-Daisho, with the city itself being called Wa-Daisho as well... (Sort of like New York, New York.) I've got six names, populations, and a few notes on elaborations to what is located at each - but I get to flesh it out right here, for all of you to see.
3:08PM 12/6/00 - Over the course of the last month, I've done more in person gaming than I've done in perhaps the entire last year. I haven't had a LOT of time to work on this information, but I have been working off and on, specifically on the Battlemaster Class Cruiser. Some of the work can be seen there, BUT the weapons page is not revamped just yet. I have also been working on the master copy of Desert Star, writing it up in book form. When it's complete I intend to take it to kinkos to have three or four copies made and bound. Who says you can only get stuff published by Palladium?? :o) If anyone cares to know, no it's not for sale. If you E-mail me however, I might send you the copy via E-mail for you to print for yourself. In the last week, we've also had family issues that have prevented further work. My wife who just last month found out she was pregnant, discovered that she was in the middle of a miscarriage this week, so that has been sort of hard on all of us here. It's sad, but life must go on. Anyway, I will try my best to get back into the program posting more details on the Battlemaster, and continuing with the Whiteshark.
4:52PM 12/6/00 - Well, once I mentioned it, I figured I'd better get on it.... I finished up the Battlemaster Class Battlecruiser's weapons section! Yaaaay! Figures that it was only a little less than two hours worth of work... Well, Whiteshark is next!
3:47AM 12/13/00 - Today I completed the Whiteshark Class Patrol Boat, FINALLY! The Allied Naval Fleet has now been completely revised, and edited. I hope you enjoy the work I've put into the page so far. My next step is to again return to Wa-Daisho and begin work on the Air Force aircraft to bring those up to spec as well.
12:43AM 12/14/00 - Keeping this ball rolling along! I went through and edited the Wa-Daisho Raiden under the Air Force page, and then went on ahead and edited the Bandito Arms Fighting Falcon page! Wow! Just all sorts of stuff getting done. Once all of that was finished, I decided that since the Fighting Falcon looks a tad bit different from the Sky King, that I'd draw up a nice little picture of it on my Paint program, and put it up on the page as well. Not a bad likeness! :o) I fizzled out when it came to the task of writing up the S-Mart Eagle though. Maybe I will have more ambition to work on that stuff tomorrow. If and when I finish that, then I need to go and add some links to a few different pages, so people can actually see what the Eagle is, then from there it's a dive into Wa-Daisho's Armored Units.
12:28AM 12/15/00 - Looooooooooong day today. I managed to get the S-Mart SMF-3 Eagle typed up FINALLY, and posted here for all of you to see. It took me a great deal of time and effort to try to get all of the facts in it to correspond but I think I managed pretty well. Once that was complete, along came the seas of links to add to the pages so that Eagle can be accessed. As I keep getting deeper into this rewrite, I notice that the list of pages it is accessible through is growing longer, and thus the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen gets longer. Egad! Once that was finished, I attacked the S-Mart HT-1 Zipper, in an aggressive rewrite, and got that squared away. I had to edit the updates page, as it was growing too long as well - as you can see at the top of this page there is now a link for January-November 2000 updates. Furthermore concerning the RIFTS pages, IF you had noticed numerous technical figures and specifications have been changed concerning ranges and effects of Radar, Radio, and Sonar. Most of this is because of the authors growing technical understanding of the function of the systems. The figures I've been adding have been more than fair, in fact still a tad unrealistically FAR, but for the most part it is better than some of those figures I was using to correspond with Palladium's standards. Let me know what you think, and any opinions you have concerning this radical chance in policy.
12:14AM 12/18/00 - I didn't get as much time as I would have liked to work on this page today, but I did get something accomplished. I have updated the Harvey stats according to more realistic terms, and have added more information, standardized it all a bit - AND finally wrote up a half ways decent background for it. I feel that I still have a lot of work left to accomplish before the whole thing is finished. I hope that in the end, my work is the most accurate and realistic RIFTS works on the 'net. :o) Fat chance, right? ;oP
12:24AM 12/22/00 - Okay! The S-Mart Atlas has been rewritten, with better data - AND also has more details as per it's service! Next is the Hovertruck, and then some minor changes to the Masakari as well - and Wa-Daisho's Armored Units will be finished out. All that remains that must be finished in the military is the Infantry section, then I go back and rewrite all sorts of fun extraneous stuff for the nation of Wa-Daisho.
5:12PM 12/23/00 - The rewrite of the Mukade was canceled. Since the Mukade is in fact just a modified S-Mart Hovertruck, I altered the Hovertruck page slightly and put that one in place of the old Mukade page. If you somehow get to that old Mukade page, let me know from where you accessed it so I can replace the link!! Also, I modified the Masakari according to what the communications and radar ranges SHOULD be... so hopefully it's better now. Note, that I do NOT agree with Palladium's views of long ranges for such small objects. I don't care how much power you pour into something it isn't going to have that kind of range...
12:49AM 1/6/01 - Happy New Year Folks! Well, it's been a while since I updated, almost a couple of weeks. I felt that now was a good time to go ahead and alter the already edited section of the S-Mart Stinger Mk.II Power Armor, since it was already done on my hard drive. While I was at it, I also went back and edited the Red River Valley Gaming Group's page. You will note a very steamy editorial about the new series of RIFTS books, the Siege on Tolkeen series. Read it, and you'll see why we are not too appreciative of Palladium's "efforts". As for the Wa-Daisho updates, in the Infantry section all that remains is the Dustfish and Hachiman to alter - and then I get to move on into the OCCs of Wa-Daisho. It'll be nice to get rid of those ancient eye sores!
11:06AM 1/10/01 - Woke up this morning at five AM, couldn't get back to sleep, and so decided to work on my web site! I ended up FINALLY finishing off the Infantry section, rewriting the Kamiken slightly, reworking the HTML of the Dustfish, and then finally rewriting the Hachiman. All in all, it looks pretty good! Getting rid of the Hachiman was a good feeling. That was without a doubt the oldest page I had around having been written in mid September of 1996, a mere few days after I started this whole page. It's strange how a compilations of letters, and words, can bring about old memories of days long past. In any case, I'm happy to see it finally rewritten, and now I can continue to expand my rewrite of Wa-Daisho. The next step on my agenda, is most definitely the edit of the OCCS of Wa-Daisho. They are quite old - not as old as the Hachiman, but pretty close. I wrote those first around the time that I got the old Geocities account back in early '97 some time, and they've been edited for minor things a couple of times since. I have since rewritten them in the hard copy I have here, so the rewrite of the online versions should be relatively fast, easy, and painless. From there, I get back into the civil regions of Wa-Daisho. There was one other point that was made, regarding the Javelin Class Battleships - an associate of mine pointed out that the blast diameter of an Iowa Class Battleship is something to the effect of 2,000' - but yet I have such a small blast radius on the Javelin's cannon shells. I'm not sure what I will do to remedy that situation yet. I'd like to find out what the Yamato's cannon shell's blast radius was so I could draw from that, rather than the 16 inchers. 2,000' though - wow... and we thought the Javelin was powerful before!
1:03AM 1/11/01 - Well, I tried to get a new guest book today. I realized that thing has been down far too long. I tried to get one through Tripod, but I couldn't because of a glitch. Then I tried guestbooks4free, and that glitched on me too after I built it up. Anyway, I'll try to work on that again another time. However, for the time being, I did finish up updating the Wa-Daisho Samurai Trooper O.C.C. so I'm keeping this ball rolling!
7:16AM 1/12/01 - No new luck on the guestbook... I think I am doomed to have a crumby guestbook! :o( Today however, I did get some work done on the page. I updated the Wa-Daisho Power Armor Commando, and also changed the names under the O.C.C.s sections to names that more closely approximated the O.C.C. in question. I also settled on a new blast radius for the 452 mm cannons used by the Javelin Class Battleship, and went for a blast radius of 500' - and ended up having to adjust the blast radius for the lesser guns of the Javelin, as well as the guns of the Battlemaster to seem a LITTLE more consistent. Special thanks goes out to good ole Flakbait for the tip on blast radiuses.
6:37PM 1/12/01 - I changed the names of all of the Wa-Daisho O.C.C.s, file names to more accurately portray what they are. Those two mile long file names were a pain in the neck anyway! :o) I also updated the "Wanese Cyborg Soldier", changing it to the far too cool Kamiyoroi Cyborg O.C.C., let me tell you there's something that just absolutely rocks about a well balanced cyborg rather than the munchkin "Wanese Cyborg Soldier" that was there previously... I mean, come on?! Pretty bad when you can look back on an old creation and laugh at it yourself...hehe Two more to update now, and a third to add - a special class, I made up a while back, that I think really should be put up here...especially in light of the Cyber-Knights turning yellow...
9:29PM 1/12/01 - I finished up the Military Engineer O.C.C. of Wa-Daisho. Took a bit more work than I anticipated, since I didn't have a picture of the Amaterasu shield that looked good enough for scanning, I had to draw one on my paint program... Doesn't look the greatest, but it gives you an idea of what it'd look like. I also had to go into a bit more detail than I did on my hard copy. Last is the Sorcerer O.C.C. of Wa-Daisho, which should be pretty easy to post - last before I add that this new one.
9:14AM 1/13/01 - The update-a-thon seems to be over at least for a few hours now. :o) I finished up the Sorcerer O.C.C. and posted it right around 6 AM or so, and then did a massive rewrite on the Kenshido Knight O.C.C. I had in my hard copy here. All in all, upon completion - I only have this to say... "Cyber-Knights? We don need no steenkin' Cyber-Knights!" I did go back and add the uniforms to the equipment list of all of the O.C.C.s which somehow managed to get left out, so now that looks right. *sigh of relief* Wa-Daisho's military appears to be complete for the time being - all is calm on the western front. HOWEVER, I may put it back under the knife again for editing of radio ranges yet again! I spoke with Flakbait at length over it, and it sounds like my ranges are still a bit unrealistically long! However, we shall see yet what I might do about it... In the meantime, it looks as if my next real step will be to tackle the Introduction to Wa-Daisho which is still in gray-back format, which dates back to the pages created in a three or four month span during early 1998.
6:28PM 1/25/01 - Okay! Lots of updates have been done on the page since I have last updated the updates page. A lot of the time, I update several pages at once, and then will put them all up at the same time - unfortunately this runs over into the Mrs computer time, and means that I cannot write the updates on the page. Okay, where to begin. The Main Wa-Daisho page has been updated with an increased number of listings available for information. Economics, Media, Various Living Expenses, Cost of Goods, Salaries, and the Alliance Currency site are all up and running. Cost of Goods still has a few dead links on it, as I need to write up a list of products that are available in Wa-Daisho, such as fruits and vegetables that adapt well to that climate, specific farming information, and things of that nature. I've got most of this information on hand already I just need to put it to print. The Currency page is the most complete I've seen here on the 'net, when it comes to a fictional monetary form. I have provided images of the money used in the Free Allied Nations, and even an image of an Allied Credit Card is provided - with your's truly's ugly mug used as an example. Check it out! I'm quite proud of my credit card! :o)
4:37AM 5/10/01 - Hello folks! It's been a long time since anything on this web site has been updated, and for that I apologize. Life has a habit of running away from you when you least expect it! What's been happening - well I've been nurturing new friendships and relationships, had a wonderful trip that took me clear from here in Minnesota, through Jackpot Nevada where I saw Yankee Gray perform two shows in a row, then moved on into Redding California where I spent a week with my grand mother. In the meantime - the Red River back at home was flooding it's banks again and nearly overwhelmed my home town, and my house! Being incapable of pushing back the flood waters ourselves, we continued on our trip down into the Bay area in California to visit Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins in profusion, before crossing Arizona and New Mexico, into El Paso to visit cousins - then went up north to Wichita Falls to visit yet another Uncle, before cutting back up the central states to home again! It was truly an adventure worthy of mention - and it has done wonders for my terrain descriptions, having seen all the wonderful terrain more recently I can describe it more vividly. I highly recommend travel for you GMs out there. After that I had a go round with the dreaded MTX virus on my PC, which I would not like to go through again, which resulted in necessitating the use of the quick restore program disk on my computer. I'm back now though - and might be working on this web site soon. Since my return from California we've been gaming a lot on our higher power campaign - in which we're trying to cause havoc with the CS military potential by taking out meat and various food processing plants. Now back to the page however. I'd like to fix some more of those dead links as well in the economics page. I also have one vehicle design that needs to be added to the list of aircraft available to the Wa-Daisho Air Force - the Type 16 Trainer.
6:24AM 5/11/01 - Well Folks I'm baaa-aaack! I've been going over the work I did in the last few months I was in my big work kick, and noticed that although I paid very good attention to the details of the game mechanics, and the story line - I failed to obey the basic laws of HTML - and realized ... Ack! I have many dead links!! I went over many of them in the last couple of days and fixed the broken links ... mostly the links at the bottom of the pages used for navigating around the Wa-Daisho related pages. In any case those are now fixed - most of them, or all that I've found basically. I'm also undertaking an edit project that is still remaining from the old days of HTML! This file was so old, that I still had HR codes all over the place, had red italic lettering at the heading, and had very ... well .... "POOR" information, and spelling. In any case, I started that big job, and have gotten about half of it rewritten. The file I'm referring to is the Nobunaga Palace page in my Republic of Wa-Daisho section. Go check out what I've done so far at Nobunaga Palace! Also, on a side note - I have also added the Republic Industries Type 16 Trainer to the listings in Wa-Daisho's Air Force, as well as the Navy section.
11:00PM 5/11/01 - I finished editing the Nobunaga Palace & City Walls page. It's packed with information - all of which has been edited of it's incredible "cheese factor", and contains some information that might actually be useful now. I REALLY want to get some pictures up there however, because without them, it looks rather blah, more like a report than a fun place to NOT attack. *grin* I also wrote up another page, that would seem out of place in an actual RIFTS book because of the sheer level of detail we're referring to now. I have written up a list of holidays and descriptions for the Republic of Wa-Daisho. I have not posted them yet, but I will soon. I'm going to keep looking around the page to see what else I can do tonight, and maybe I'll get that put up as well.
6:14AM 5/12/01 - All sorts of information added today! I scanned up the image of the Island of Wa-Daisho finally, so the introduction to the entire Republic begins! I updated the population figures, with the numbers including all the other small towns and farms in Wa-Daisho, I added the FIRST image of Nobunaga Palace - a pencil drawing by your's truly. Yes, I know I'm not an artist - but without one at my disposal, I do my best. I also reorganized the Wa-Daisho main page according to general city info, political/government info, and culture/lifestyle info. Looks MUCH better now. I looked over at Desert Star briefly ... oie ... I don't think I'm looking forward to that job!! Oh, and I also got the holidays and annual events file put up for Wa-Daisho as well. Slowly but surely, it is coming around people!!
5:49PM 8/28/01 - Hello everyone! Been a while since I've updated. Been doing a bit too much stuff lately to have time for the web page, but I try! Most often I'm playing Mr. Mom, cooking, cleaning, and doing merchandizing jobs outside of the home, so that eats up a lot of my time. When I'm not doing this, I'm working on my other hobbies, model building - and questing to attain rare and hard to find model kits. Every now and then I get in an urge to work on my home page, or on other RIFTS material - so I do. Most often it's in hard copy though, like the other night I was drawing out floor plans to the fortifications around the keep of Nobunaga Palace. Today however, I finally got to the web page. I edited the Jedi Knight O.C.C. after it was pointed out as a favorite of a gamer, via E-mail! I went, looked, and saw it - but I saw that it looked like crap! The material was still basically sound, but the format had to go. It was the old gray background format that I used to use! Egad! I edited it, used some of his suggestions to clean up the O.C.C. a bit, etc. Looks much better now!! Thanks William Johnson!!
2:07PM 10/27/01 - New updates today, not a lot, but a little something. I've been working off and on, on the Wa- Daisho City Places of Interest. It's slow going, and meticulous, but it's for a good cause. ;o) The information contained within is highly detailed, involves specifics about the business, the owner, and their all important reputation. So far I've got 41 of them finished, and another 16 or so to go. Further notes regarding Wa-Daisho's construction. I have completed the mapping of Nobunaga Palace. Previously I had the entire main keep mapped, but now all of the buildings are mapped out on graph paper according to scale. The old map I had, was sorely out of scale, so this is a vast improvement.
6:04AM 2/14/02 - Here's the first update in several months to the web page. I included two updates really. I updated the information on the Red River Valley Gaming Group Web Page, and also removed the rather offensive comment made regarding the September 11th Attacks. Although I am still fiercely American, and very proud of what my countrymen are doing both at home and abroad - I don't feel that chest thumping here, and screaming obscenities at our hated foes - especially on this web site, would do any good. If anything it would offend more conservative gamers, than it would inspire a feeling of comaraderie. In any case, let it be said here and now that I do NOT support what al Qaida did to the United States, and I feel that Operation Enduring Freedom is our best hope for freedom from terror. Although I did not vote for Bush, I think he's doing a really good job given the present situation. Anyway, enough about that. Back to the page! I am hoping on conducting some more updates in the next few weeks. I want to complete the places of interest for Wa-Daisho I started a while back, and start working on the compilation work, which is essentially a world book ready for printing with watered down although complete details on what is found here. Among other details I'd like to add are a handful of new spells developed by Captain Sir George Franklin of the Royal Tolkeen Air Force, in response to requests from Major Sir Adolf Galland, of the same. I also have some CS technology to add including the DHEWA, the secret weapon of June 119PA, known by the mysterious acronym D.H.E.W.A., that so paralyzed the portions of Tolkeen, East of the St. Croix, making the entire collapse of the Eastern border such a cataclysmic success, and war time advances made to the CS Nightwings, as well as their Naval dirivative counterparts the Shrikes and Sea Strikers, and the post war successor to the CS Nightwing after the fall of Tolkeen, the NA-16 Nighthawk, built using lessons learned during the Skies Over Tolkeen campaign! I still would like to add details for the Skies Over Tolkeen Campaign, optional air combat rules, and lessons in building a war time campaign - be it pilot or ground pounder related.
5:10AM 2/16/02 - It seems like a lifetime ago that I started rewriting the Wa-Daisho Places of Interest. Finally, this morning - I have completed them!! They are now available in individual page format for easy viewing. Say there is one business in particular you want to look at, you go to it, click it, and there it is! Bingo! Okay, not one of those guys that's into a lot of detail? I have a single page format that is in a summarized format, but accurate none the less - and in single page format perfect for printing. You just miss out on some of the in depth details about specific places. You like the detail, and want to print it out for your' campaign though? Perfect, I have it all put together in a single doc file, that can be downloaded and printed, which should amount to anywhere from 32-40 pages of information!! You want a vivid campaign, in Wa-Daisho, that page has it all - save for the underground city. I am still working on that. I may want to detail the general details about the city a little bit more by talking a bit about the street lights, traffic signals, mail boxes, and similar. Just little things like that, that give a place more of a personality to them. The underground city details are also underway. I have a summarized version written out in long hand here, but I need to work up the kind of details I have for the Above ground businesses. Rest assured, soon enough, I will!! Just ... not tonight ... er ... this morning. Oie ... I need sleep. ;o)
1:14AM 5/9/02 - Okay! Finally made an update to the web site! Sorry for the delay. I have added the newest segment to SirTenzan's RIFTS Gallery - and that is the RRVGG House Rules! All rules that we've developed for our game. Check 'em out if you're interested in optional rules!
6:32PM 7/30/02 - Another small update to the web site, this time it's actually a fairly large update on the Red River Valley Gaming Group's web page. I added in our updated campaigns, recent news for the game group, and similar. Again, if you are interested in gaming with us, don't hesitate to contact us!! Meanwhile plans for the future of the web page; I still need to put together the RRVGG Gods & Goddesses web site, but that'll be done eventually it's on a back burner with Wa-Daisho still in the middle of it's rewrite. I've been struggling to get my hard copy of Wa-Daisho updated to the point of the web site, meaning that I'd have all of the data in my notebooks as I have on here. Unfortunately, thus far - it's a work in progress. I'm still working on copying the Places of Interest, word for word, in long hand - since my printer doesn't work. I HAVE been working on some futuristic ideas for the Alliance, and Wa-Daisho more specifically, but nothing terribly important - not important enough to post here ... yet.
2:17AM 8/6/02 - The last several days I've been working on Wa-Daisho's Places of Interest, for my personal hard copy. While working, I noticed just how old the old map of Wa-Daisho is!! I originally drew the base portion of it, the southern portions that is, back in '95! Here it is seven years later, and I'm still working on the bloody place. (In reality the thing is pretty much finished, just needs to be compiled together...) Anyway, I figured - that now that I'm older, I could do better. Better is an understatement compared to what it was like before, it's 200% better! Anyway, I've scanned it up, and have added it to the main Wa-Daisho page. Meanwhile, as outdated as it is, and as crumby of a map as it was to begin with, I have deleted the 110PA map from Tripod as well. I MAY some day add a new map of Wa-Daisho at that stage, so that players can play at the beginning stages of Wa-Daisho. That's all in the future though. Enjoy the new map! Hopefully it will improve game play a bit to actually have it look like a city! :oD
7:57AM 8/14/02 - The other day my friend Shane Hanson, whom I met online as a fellow gamer, contemporary game accessory designer, and a fellow Minnesotan I might add, sent me a picture of his Indochinese Republic's hover tank - and I realized, rather quickly, that I didn't have a picture of Wa-Daisho's hover tank I could send to him. In reality, I only loosely had a mental image of what it might look like. I knew it was based on the UWW's Greataxe, but I didn't know just how different it would look with the native design changes that would be necessary for it to be produced on Earth. Thus I took up the task of drawing out first the Greataxe in a profile side view - to get an idea of what it looks like from that angle. It is an interesting machine, to say the least. I saved that image, then colored it in the markings Wa-Daisho would have put it in, during it's evaluation phase. Then I colored a second one, this time in Crab Apple Cove Markings! (River Pirate town in Wyoming.) Once I got through with that fun, I started in the task of modifying the uncolored image, modifying the hull in ALL places essentially, only the general outline remaining the same, and then completely removed the two cannon turret and replaced it with one smaller than, but similar in design to the one found on the S-Mart Harveys Wa-Daisho used to use as it's primary heavy armor. Once it was all finished, I painted it in Wa-Daisho's military markings, customized it a bit with the Major's insignia for identification, Wa-Daisho national insignia, and then finally I added a slogan to the cannon barrel - just a little fun! The Masakari turned out wonderfully, and I am excited to put it on the web site.
12:28AM 8/15/02 - After contacting Harmony Gold about the use of an image from Palladium Books' now out of production, Robotech RPG Book Two: RDF Manual, it was requested of me to add copyright data at the bottom of the page to make it legit. They had no objection with it being placed there, provided that I added that. Thus, at Steve Yun's request, I have edited the Author's note at the bottom of the Dalmir Class Carrier page, to include copyright info regarding Harmony Gold. Also, last Saturday (8/10), SirTenzan's RIFTS Gallery was added to the RPG Gateway, and was put into the running for a "prestigious" award at their listing site. Unfortunately, after a brief inquiry, I soon discovered that SirTenzan's RIFTS Gallery is out of the running automatically according to their criteria. Any site that has pop up ads, is automatically disqualified. Plug ins, or embedded ads? Same thing. They justify this by stating that there are too many other web providers out there who provide web space, who do not automatically have pop up ads. Although I agree with that comment - I've had accounts at both Geocities and at Angelfire, and have lost access to both pages some way or another, and thus I still swear by Tripod 100%. It's a shame that I'm out of the running - despite all the work I put into the site, but Tripod is the place for me. In my book convenience does not rate as high as reliability.
4:56PM 10/16/02 - I haven't done a tremendous amount to the web page in a couple of months. I've been far too occupied running two separate campaigns that both require far more paperwork than I would like. That combined with a work schedule, household chores, family time, AND my hobby of model building - well, as you can well imagine, since I enjoy sleeping now and then, my time flies pretty quickly. Anyway, today I added a new link to my links page, replacing the failed Megaversal Exchange's link. This new site is similar to the Megaversal Exchange in that it catalogs RIFTS creations from other web sites across the 'net. Unlike the Megaversal Exchange however, it also indexes various RIFTS creations in the books, making navigation through the books a tad easier. Call it a Mega-Sourcebook online.
4:16AM 10/18/02 - Well it's been a while since I've updated the web site. Today made up for some of my lack of activity, however. I began work at about 10 AM this morning, and have worked straight through, save for enough time to eat dinner and watch Hart's War. I have updated SEVERAL different aspects of my web page, including the S-Mart Munitions Page, ALL of S-Mart's Aircraft (All except the Cicada, I'll catch that one in the next round.), altering them so that they are not always reprinting the same data on missiles or missile pods under different aircraft. Instead now, a singular pod weapons page lists these, along with applicable prices. I also updated the primary weapon systems of the Atlas, Maxwell, and Stonewall as new information has come to light. Along the way I also updated the format of all of these pages, as several of them didn't even have the BASIC format I've been using for over two years now. Next on the agenda? Dunno - the Cicada likely. I need to also address radar/radio ranges of just about everything listed on my pages.
3:28AM 10/19/02 - Wow, another update, I'm on a role! Don't get used to it though... :op Anyway, I updated the S-Mart Cicada as I mentioned, revised a lot of the $@$% that was found there previously. Now it's in a nice clean, book-like format. During my revision, I noticed that I've forgotten to add entries to ALL of S-Marts aircraft regarding ejection seats. As such I added those entries to all of S-Mart's aircraft. I also corrected a couple of spelling errors and a few missed spaces along the way. Yes, I know they're still terrible. I'm doing what I can, when I can though... Now, what is next? Probably those radar/radio ranges I mentioned, among other things for adding some systems to those birds. Meanwhile I also still have the Wa-Daisho Underground City Places of Interest sitting on a back burner. A couple of levels are completed and ready to be listed, but I like to have it all finished and ready when I add it to the web page. Nothing is worth doing, unless you can do it right the first time, after all. Gee - wish I had that pearl of wisdom when I first started this page. Okay, scratch that, if that were the case, this page wouldn't be here. Okay, I'm rambling, I'm overly tired. Time to hit the racks...
6:12PM 1/24/03 - Last night I discovered that my proud Wa-Daisho places of interest did not work!! Ack! You could view it through the ordinary page by page view of the businesses, but when you download the document - it came up as jibberish, PLUS you couldn't download the summarized places of interest for printing!! Frustrated as could be, I decided to zip the original document THEN put it on the web site for the downloadable version. That worked wonderfully, so that's up and functioning. Afterwards I figured out the problem with the summarized places of interest - I had misspelled the link, and called it sumwdplacesint.html instead of wdsumplacesint.html! Duh... Anyway, so it's been fixed. IN other news, Wa-Daisho's Underground Places of Interest are COMPLETE and ready to be posted. I need to divide up the master document onto the separate page by page views, BUT that's all I need to do prior to posting it. The Underground Places of Interest will have ALL of the same features as the standard Places of Interest, three types of formats, etc. That should be done within the next week - if all goes well.
3:34AM 8/3/03 - I am truly ashamed at how little this page has been updated in the past year, and to all of those who make a habit of using the materials on this web page - I formally apologize to you for not working more to put this page together the rest of the way. I hope that this update will help to explain why I have been away for so long. The past six months have been a major period of transition for our family and for our game group as a whole. In January I learned that I am going to be a father again, which of course required a bit more focus on some very important things that I have probably not spent enough time with. First of all, my health wasn't the greatest - I have been gaining weight over the last couple of years, and had really stopped doing most of the things I used to do that more or less kept my body in the one shape I had kept for years. When I learned this, I made a point to change ... EVERYTHING about my life. I spend much less time on the computer, I eat much less, I drink diet soda, fruit juices, and coffee with Sweet-N-Low in it, I go out a lot more, go on long walks, spend more time with my daughter outdoors, I've taken up weight lifting again, and have even started to take up bicycling again. After six months of hard labor to work my body into shape, I've managed to lose a good portion of the weight that I had gained, got myself into a size of jean I hadn't worn since Junior High School, and now lift more weight than I did back when I was in High School Football back in the mid 90s. Why now? I guess I finally realized that having a family means that I have to do everything I can to stay with my family. At the rate I was going ... I wouldn't have seen my soon to be son reach high school. Beyond all of that, I also needed to whip myself back into shape for a full out return to the work force. I've been working part time merchandising for the past four years - a full time position at a factory is a great deal more strenuous than that position required. Anyway, enough about that - game stuff and page stuff. Our game group is in the midst of transition as well. We're still plugging away at the final stages of our famous "Skies Over Tolkeen" campaign. Our characters are no longer directly affiliated with the Royal Tolkeen Air Force, and instead we're working hard at getting as many refugees out of Tolkeen as we can before the CS Naval Infantry Division from the north manages to close the last safe route of escape. As time goes on it is getting increasingly difficult just to keep them from closing that gap... With that campaign drawing to a close, we are left to consider future campaigns. A few mini-campaigns have been planned for our SoT characters for the near future, but the powerful character group will have to sit on back burners for at least a little while. The reason being, is that those characters are taking a time skip - a five year skip while several of them get some of their out of character issues in order. When we return to that group - there is plans for a MAJOR anti-Vampire campaign that will involve a full out assault on the Vampire Kingdoms from the member nations of the Alliance. I plan to put this all together as a campaign that Game Masters from around the world can follow suit to do the same, by outlining the politics surrounding it prior to the start of the campaign. I will outline major points, major enemy forces, and the forces that have been committed to the campaign - but ultimately I leave it up to individual GMs how they want to run it, or who even wins. That is one project I have been kicking around for a while, and that I work on from time to time - as time permits. The immediate future for the web page however, is that I plan to finish the update on the Underground Places of Interest of Wa-Daisho. I have decided that a more basic description of the surrounding towns of Wa-Daisho will suffice - so those will be quick to create and post. Beyond that, then I will delve into Desert Star - stuff that I posted YEARS ago, to rework, recreate, and to deepen the story line behind the Glittering City. When will I have time? Saturdays or Sunday nights I think will be prime days for updates. Wish me luck, and please E-mail me and send me any feedback you have on existing works.
5:48AM 8/4/03 - Yesterday morning's update prompted me to actually do a face lift to the sight this morning. Although only the main page and the Palladium Books' Hyperlink page have been altered, I intend to complete the face lift later in the morning or early this afternoon. Some of the data was out dated, images were old and "dusty", so I changed the color scheme around, changed the buttons, and I think it really looks a hundred percent better now than it did! I looked over the data I had put off on a back burner regard the Gods we of the RRVGG have used for our game, and I found that I had two pages ready to be posted on it, and another in the works. I got bogged down in the third, however, because it's a twist on the modern Judeo-Christian-Muslim theology. I made the mistake of trying to include too many details on this diety. I might be able to get that posted sometime this week...
5:52AM 8/5/03 - I didn't get around to finishing up the face lift yesterday, so I decided to do it early this morning! In any event, SirTenzan's RIFTS Gallery has a whole new look! Along with, I also added some new material here and there. I added a couple of pictures of Wa- Daisho's flags, one to the main Wa-Daisho page that shows the one from it's first few years of history, and the one presently used. Then I posted another picture sort of like that under the Wa-Daisho Military page, that shows the Wa-Daisho Naval Standard, the Flag of the Republic (Current one again...), and national insignia as it appears on standard Wa-Daisho military units armor, aircraft, etc. and the national insignia the Tenzan Elite uses. Take a look! As you all know, it is my goal to have the most comprehensive and COMPLETE supplement for RIFTS EVER! Along with this, I also killed a couple of old files. I killed the Bladesmith Armorers page once and for all, a section that has been here since September of 96. Originally I had posted stats on weapons with the intention of adding scans of the drawings I'd made of those weapons about a year prior to this page's start. However at some point or another those pictures were lost, and so it just remained a page full of stats. The story line wasn't that interesting to boot, so I scrapped it. Also I noticed that the applet for the Megaversal Chat was no longer functioning. No surprise really, I hadn't used it in a couple of years, so I went on ahead and killed that as well. I DID also add a new button for the Gods of the RRVGG, but there is nothing linked to it just yet. I don't have time to do it just now, but I'll get those posted soon...
6:30AM 8/7/03 - I put in a little bit of time this morning to finish up a couple of pages. I managed to complete the main page of "Gods of the RRVGG", and managed to finish up our rendition of "Yodheh". (For those of you who do not have the proverbial skill of Religion Lore, Yodheh is another name for Yahweh, or Jahova.) I don't really have time to link it all up to the main pages, but I'll try to get around to it this evening. Meanwhile, here's a link giving a first hand look at the page in question; Gods of the RRVGG. I may just take the oportunity to type in Hachiman and Kiraboshi while I'm at it this evening. In any event, I've got to run.
10:44PM 8/11/03 - I FINALLY managed to get back here to complete the Gods of the RRVGG update. This included linking it to all of the Gallery's main pages. Only two of the four Gods listed have been completed and posted for viewing. I should comment on these two here, as sort of an editorial. Yodheh - or otherwise known to Christians everywhere as Jahova or God is the God of the Judeo-Christian faiths. We have given this religion a slightly different twist in our RIFTS campaign making him more of a villainous sort by exaggerating the jealous aspects of this God and the tests of faith and such. An idea from Robert A. Heinlen's book "Job: A Parody of Justice" was to make Satan another God, a sort of idealistic nice guy "younger brother" of Yodheh. I have not completed the stats or background to this take on Satan, so they cannot be found there yet. However I did want to address the point and make it VERY clear that these are NOT the RRVGG's views of God or Satan, nor do we intend for anybody to get the impression that this is really how it went. The other God is Hachiman, the Shinto God of War. We have twisted things around with this God as well, to make him a bit of a schemer and manipulator as well, who isn't exactly playing with a full deck of cards. Both dieties have been active in our campaign to a great extent, along with the Aztec Pantheon and the Great Spirits of the Native American Pantheon. In any event, if you are looking to give your' RIFTS Campaign another dimension to it - check this out! Religious motivations can be very strong character backgrounds ... just look at history!
5:33AM 8/16/03 - Despite being in the midst of suffering my first ever bout of dealing with a food alergy, I have made a couple of updates to the page. Yesterday morning I managed to get the responses on my guestbook all caught up. I deleted most of the private ones - because frankly - what's the point of those if not everyone can read them?! I also managed to get Kiraboshi, the Goddess of Everlasting Neutrality, added to the Gods of the RRVGG after typing her up between my anti-histamine induced naps/comas. For those of you who do downers for fun ... WTF?! I HATE this feeling of not being able to concentrate and remain focused. In any event, I am starting to feel the next bout of sleepiness come over me, so I'd better get this posted. Enjoy! What's next? I dunno really! I'd like to get the Underground City stuff posted under Wa-Daisho, but that's a time consuming project that requires the creation of a pile of new html pages. Still, I've been procrastinating on posting it for MONTHS. I'll see what I can manage though...
11:38PM 9/1/03 - Lots of stuff going on here! Where to begin. I suppose most recent to the oldest news! As of 7:09AM my family is a family of four! My wife and fellow gamer extraordinare Angelina May gave birth to a handsome little man which we promptly named Anthony William May. Two matters of irony involved - one - she gave birth on "Labor Day", and for two - why is it that he chose to be born on a game day? Born gamer perhaps! Haha! I'll have him playing a mage by the age of six! :oD~ Kidding aside, he was 18.5 inches long, 5 Lb. 15 Oz., and rated an 8 & 9 on the test thingies they do - generally speaking, though small he's a healthy baby boy. I already am going nuts with Angie and Anthony there at the hospital - two more days of waiting. ON to other news then. No new updates have been made to the RIFTS pages in a couple of weeks but I HAVE been working on a couple of different projects. I am getting together the stats on the S-Mart Battlefield Enema - a light tank design operable by only a two man crew. She can't slug it out with the heavies, but she'd certainly enhance the long range combat capabilities of a small mercenary unit. All I have left to complete on the stats is the weapons, and then I need to find a universal adapter for my scanner so I can scan the drawing of the type. The other project I've been working on is the cultural page for Wa-Daisho. Culture for any civilized community is composed of many complicated factors. Entire books have been written on culture without even scratching the surface of details in the complexities of today's modern cultures. Although I do not even pretend to be capable of outlining ALL of the cultural details of a sophisticated island republic with influences from at least a dozen separate and unique cultures, I hope to be able to outline enough of the differences so that when players are gaming in Wa-Daisho they can tell that they are not in Lazlo, they are not in Kingsdale, but a totally different place. Cultural details, in my view, have been one of the largest weaknesses in the creations of Palladium Books. As for our campaigning, Skies Over Tolkeen has progressed so that the Tolkeenite characters no longer fight under the banner of Tolkeen, and are completely autonomous of the Tolkeenite chain of command - completely dedicated to escorting the evacuation progress and clearing the road of any hostile obstacles. Our first game session taking place outside of Tolkeen entirely was to be today - BUT Anthony had other plans! ;o) Other than this, I have secured a new place of employment as a full time telemarketer for a company called PCI. Don't worry - no get rich quick schemes - just credit card insurance. I needed more hours, and merchandising for News America just wasn't cutting it. In any event, there's the update for today!
3:47AM 9/4/03 - Quite a bit has happened since September 1st, but to summarize here goes. My daughter attended her first day of Kindergarten - a day I think I was more nervous about than she was. Things went well and she had a blast - she loves school. Despite that good development, everything else seems to be a bit rotten. Although Angie is home from the hospital now she can barely get around due to a VERY painful incision given to her by a slightly overzealous doctor at Meritcare. (Small baby - HUGE epesiotomy.) While she is home, my son Anthony is still at the hospital. Some sort of bacterial infection came over him while we were still there at the hospital, requiring him to stay at the NICU for a bare minimum of 10 days. We're very worried about him, and the fact that we're here and he's all alone there drives us nuts. THAT in and of itself is why I'm up at almost 4 AM working on my RIFTS page ... something to keep my mind off of this fact. Anyway, my updates to the page. I have finally finished the S-Mart Battlefield Enema Light Tank, and posted it. Meanwhile I discovered I had completely edited the S-Mart Armored Vehicles page in my backup files but never got that posted - so I went on ahead and added that along with the new Battlefield Enema link. Although my scanner isn't up and running I spent a couple of hours coming up with a line drawing of the Battlefield Enema on my paint program. It gives a person an idea of what she looks like, and a good size comparison as well. It's drawn to scale, and has a 6' tall human silhouette next to it. When my scanner is back up and running I am probably going to scan the image in the Cyberpunk 2020 Maximum Metals book of the US M-75 to replace the drawing. Anyway, that's the only update I've done. I may be working more on these pages this weekend, since Angie's not sure if she'll be in the mood to game, and I'll want to try to drown my mind in something to keep my mind off of stuff.
2:04AM 9/6/03 - Anthony is still in the NICU at the hostpital, but the mystery bacteria infection appears to be falling to the aggressive use of antibiotics. As it turns out what he contracted is haemophilus influenzae - also known as the leading cause of meningitis in children under 5 years of age. Thus far his spinal tap has remained clear of any sign of the bacteria though. His blood culture taken the day before yesterday has as of this point showed itself to be clear. We find out later this morning if his blood is completely clear of the bacteria. If it turns out to be clear we have to wait a further TEN DAYs until we can bring him home ... which sees him "setting foot" on home soil for the first time literally on his due date. Wish us luck in any event. IN the meantime to try to pass the time I have been continuing my latest barrage on S-Mart's armored vehicles. Today I edited several of the armored vehicles removing some glaring spelling errors, tweeking story line here and there, and removed the erronious classification numbers I used initially for S-Mart and changed them to the Suchnsuch-A and Suchnsuch-B format I've settled upon. I also worked hard and long on the S-Mart Commando-A & B variants, and have introduced them to the internet for the first time - complete with a detailed three view drawing of each of the two variants. Along with the intro of the Commando, I removed the listing for the S-Mart Orion, as that was the name initially slotted for the Commando-B. To simplify matters I just used my new classification system as it's official ID. It makes it a bit more unique this way... I also added the S-Mart Mustang to the "Soon to Come" list.
2:18AM 9/8/03 - Break out the good china Mama, cuz Anthony's comin' home! Sorry ... had to go southern there. Anthony's last blood culture came back negative which means we are counting down the days until he comes home. Looks like about the 14th or so. We're very happy! As for the web site updates, I found a page where I accidentally left the chat & bladesmith armorers buttons and fixed it. Then I cleaned out some of my old files ending up with fully half of my 20 MB total space yet to use. That's GREAT for future creations, because I have tons of new ideas. I have to be frank with you folks - I'm getting kinda tired of just converting stuff from other RPGs. I HAVE created things of my own, such as the Masakari - but you haven't seen the half of the stuff I've made up in terms of vehicle and weapon designs. My plan is to eventually complete Wa-Daisho and Desert Star up to the February 8th, 118PA mark. Once that is completed I plan to give updates up to the 125PA mark that marks a LOT of changes with both game places, including the picking up of momentum in the industrial power in Wa- Daisho, Republican Industries, a complete and very mysterious regime change in one of the two nations, and the start of the Vampire Wars. Like most of Palladium's writers I'm getting WAY ahead of myself, but believe me ... this stuff ROCKS! Anyway, that's enough for now... hopefully the site looks a bit better without dead links floating around the main page...
3:35PM 9/9/03 - I am working on an update of the S-Mart Interceptor-B power armor unit, including a new, modified, Interceptor-A image, and a drawing of the RFFC-17 compared to the WD-RFFC20. It's not posted yet, BUT I wanted to let you know that I am continuing with the updates. Also, as of today, SirTenzan's RIFTS Gallery is SEVEN years old! That doesn't sound like much - but in terms of the web and the average lifespan of RPG sites on the web - that's ancient! ;o) Thank you all for all the nice feedback I've received over these years, and tip a soda back in honor of the Gallery in the hopes for another wonderful seven years.
5:05AM 9/10/03 - The Kamiken update is complete, including an image displayed of the power armor suit itself - modified from the original Interceptor image. I also included an image showing the RFFC-17 for those produced by S-Mart for commercial distribution and a WD-RFFC20, an RFFC type never seen before anywhere on the web before now. Don't expect too much - it's a direct development of the RFFC-17.
3:47AM 9/11/03 - THE anniversary. Two years ago today too many people died to the senseless aggressions of a mad man. As where Texans say "Remember the Alamo!" in their battle cries. I think ALL Americans should say "Remember 9/11" and back our uniformed men and women. They are fighting and dieing in exotic places for your' freedoms - and for the freedom of the average joe over there. ANYWAY - Rant OFF. Today I edited the S-Mart Interceptor- B/Kamiken a little more, fixing a couple of errors. Then I also got rid of the old coding system on the S-Mart Stonewall, and did a major overhaul on both the S-Mart Stinger, now called the Stinger-A, and the Stinger II/Stingray, now called the Stinger-B/Stingray. I also got rid of the old coding system on the S-Mart Power Armor page as well. Lots of changes... minor ones, but changes none the less. As for my Wa-Daisho cultural page. LOTS of work has been put into that. I'm planning to include sections on clothing, customs, foods, and similar to accompany the holidays, music, and media sections I've already completed. This stuff is GREAT to work out, because you get to study the defining traits of the different groups that are involved with Wa-Daisho such as the North Western Native American tribes, Japanese culture, as well as some guesswork as far as what influences came from the central regions of North America - where most of the people there are from. Strong influences from the central regions, but with inspiration/cultural leeching from the tribes there AND the Japanese influences from their ally Kyatashiro! Some info on art will also be provided - but mostly as it applies to clothing.
4:18AM 10/29/03 - I have lots to report for those of you who are bothering to read all of this. Over the past month I've been working pretty steadily on an update for Wa-Daisho. This update would include ALL of the details of the Crops, Livestock, and Aquaculture of Wa-Daisho. Plus it would include a handful of extensive price lists that would define prices for all manner of products that may be found in the Republic of Wa-Daisho. These details have NOT been easy to compile, since it has required countless hours of in depth research on agriculture in the region today, learning more about commercial fishing than I -EVER- really wanted to know. This is the first stage in updating the cultural section on the page - even though this first section included updating an old page, and adding approximately 12 new pages of data - many of which were several pages long when printed out. I have also compiled extensive data on the way that people in Wa-Daisho eat, such as what their meals are composed of - given the common food products available to them, and the dominant influences of the original inhabitants of the island. I've also done my best to try to integrate traits from the cultures introduced during the mass congregation of settlers from the East - including some Elven cuisine. Clothing details are also coming along quite nicely - I've learned a lot about the uses of wool, learned about linens, and synthetic materials as well which should make that an interesting section. Whew. It's been exceedingly busy here. My work keeps me pretty busy nowadays, plus trying to keep up with our weekly game session as well keeps me on my toes. Almost every spare moment I have though, I'm working on this update. When this update along with the Underground Places of Interest are posted I will probably be taking a break from updating this page - for a while at least. I will be back, however, I just need to focus more on my family and some of my other hobbies for a while afterwards. Meanwhile, enjoy what you see here, and drop me a line if you like the work I've compiled.
3:44PM 10/29/03 - No work for me today, my voice is practically gone from this blasted cold. Ah well ... such is life. I figured I'd make the most of it, by compiling the Diet & Cuisine page for Wa-Daisho's culture. It can be accessed through the main Wa-Daisho page, under Culture & Lifestyles. I also corrected a couple of errors on the livestock and aquaculture price pages, and added a couple of glaring omittions. That's all for now...
11:47PM 11/1/03 - FINALLY! Wa-Daisho's Underground Places of Interest page has been updated beyond the gray background edition of this web site. That edition was a minor update in '98 & '99 to the version written back in '97. Now you can view Wa-Daisho's Underground Places of Interest in clickable format for each of the individual businesses and establishments, you can download a zip file with the full wdugplacesint.doc file, which you can print out or refer to offline, and then there is the much more brief summarized places of interest that may be downloaded or printed for quick reference. All that remains to be completed for Wa-Daisho is a handful of culture pages referring to clothing and other culture related issues, which has had some extensive efforts put into it already, the industry page, and the mining page - and Wa-Daisho will be complete up to 118PA! The updates that will include those subjects will not be introduced immediately. I feel that after these last two major updates I will be taking a sabatical for at least a couple of weeks while I attend more to my family and other hobbies. In the meantime enjoy the new developments in Wa-Daisho. I truly hope that these updates have helped to flesh out your' campaigns.
1:25AM 12/2/03 - Hello! Just a quick update today. I went on ahead and updated the RRVGG web page, so that it accurately reflected the campaigns today. The data on the two main campaigns was out dated, and several campaigns that had been on hold have been permanently shelved. Meanwhile two campaigns are getting ready for active gaming as the two main campaigns are coming to a close.
4:03PM 1/21/04 - First update of the year is completed! I have added Wa-Daisho's Mining page complete with lists of 6 major mining companies in the Republic, and ten major mines located throughout the Republic. In addition to that I have updated the RRVGG web site with the incredible news that the legendary Skies Over Tolkeen Campaign has finally come to an end, with the final flight over the stricken Kingdom. We're both happy and sad to see it go. Just going over the campaign details as I was cleaning out the binder was almost making me misty eyed with nostalgia! Five years and seven months ... all of which was well spent.
4:13PM 1/29/04 - I was looking over the pages describing some of S-Mart's major weapons types a few days ago and decided that these things look anemic and basic - something that doesn't belong in SirTenzan's RIFTS Gallery, considering the changes that have been made in recent years. Thus I created new images for the LPL-7, the HPL-7, and the HLP-4 - plus I added new data on there that would bring these out of the dark ages of being just tech BS to being something with a complete history and an illustrated display of several features. Note that this art and literature is just a tantalizing preview to the Wa-Daisho 125PA update that is still pending completion! Meanwhile in other news; While working on the three energy weapons above I created a brief history outlining the projects that Capos Industries and subsequently S-Mart undertook to create these weapons. I hope to adapt some of that to S-Mart when I effect a much longer ranging revamp of that material there. I have been doing some other cursory update material in regards to the government of Desert Star as well in my leisure time. Most Kingdoms in RIFTS do not really use much in the way of royals and nobles the way they functioned back 'in the day', but I hope to try to expand Desert Star to include some of this in the near future. Back in Wa-Daisho meanwhile, Wa-Daisho's Industry pages are still under construction. I hope to complete these before too much longer. It's difficult because I must cover such a wide variety of places. Smithe Corp is turning into another mega-corp type company, but with the distinction of lacking extremely high technology goods. No energy weapons, vibro-weapons, etc. Republican Industries will still remain pretty small for the most part, BUT they will grow by leaps and bounds in the seven years between the February 118PA mark and the Wa-Daisho 125PA update. Anyway, be on the look out for more changes in the following weeks. Without the responsibility of regularly GMing for the time being I should be able to find extra time for these sorts of updates.
3:36AM 3/16/04 - I managed to effect a small update on the web site today including a page for the Industry of Wa- Daisho, Electricity in Wa-Daisho, and Republican Industries. These pages do not have an insane amount of data, a page or two maximum, but enough to outline some very basic information that might be necessary for a campaign in the Republic. I have some cursory information assembled on Smithe Corp and plan to assemble that in the near future. All of the others will likely simply be referenced to the specific web sites that will deal with each of these communities these small industries are located in. This makes it easier and far less messy to have three paragraphs on this web page, and three on that one. Furthermore you will note that I am slowly phasing out my "mailto" links. Some of the newer web browsers no longer support this function any longer for one reason, and for two - I am tired of the spam!!! You will now find a contact page where my old mailto links were located. On this page you will find two addresses mentioned. Both of which will have a simple series of instructions laid out for you to figure out what my address is. Don't have time for such "games"? Then you don't want to mail me very bad, leave me a message on my guestbook then...
6:24AM 10/11/04 - It's been over half a year since I last updated the RIFTS site here, so I figure it's time that I
dropped in and at least updated you all on what has been going on here. I worked steadily on the very first Red River Valley Gaming Group publication - RIFTS World
Book A: Wa-Daisho up through about mid July but then I suffered from busy-itis from there on. (I became too busy to even make a serious effort at writing more...) Now,
it's September though, the winter months are approaching, and my best time of the year for writing, model building, and snuggling up with a good book or a good movie
are here. Thus I have returned to writing! In Wa-Daisho news! Both books that, when completed, will represent more than eight years of development will have a very distinctive feel to each. World
Book A basically gives the character group and the game master the feel for Wa-Daisho as an adventure location. It will include such details as specific places of
interest for adventuring, significant legends of the island, rumors of treasure, magic, history, and danger all carefully crafted to promote adventuring. Character
classes are mostly restricted to every day types that one would encounter in the civilian world that is Wa-Daisho - any one of which could become an adventurer.
Sourcebook A will have a distinct heroic warrior feel to it. Wa-Daisho's soldiers have been tried in a couple of conflicts by the time these books come out - circa
120PA, and each time while bloodied they've come out on top. With trouble brewing on the horizon for Wa-Daisho itself to the immediate North and to Wa-Daisho's
interests far in the south - it gives the characters and game master a feel that their efforts however miniscule may mean the difference between the Republic's success
and failure to survive in this chaotic world. Remember - we of the RRVGG do NOT have an agreement with Palladium Books to market these books so please bear that in mind when
reading these paragraphs - we are NOT selling these books. You will however be able to download it at your' leisure once the project is completed. Then you may print
it out, or take it to your local print shop and have it printed and bound for yourself. If you put it in a 3 1/2" binder you could probably get it printed and bind it
that way for about what you would pay for an official Palladium Books RIFTS book - be on the lookout! 2:37AM 11/30/04 - The RRVGG web site has been updated to more accurately portray the campaigns presently being run
with the group, the current members of the RRVGG, and the credentials of existing players/game masters. In the news for the Wa-Daisho book - inside of a month's time a
total of 50 pages have been added to the Wa-Daisho World Book! Portions completed include several significant NPCs, the Blue Water Mage's Guild, and the spells section
I mentioned in my previous update. The big surprise? Over 50 all new spells are included! Also completed are the details on Angel Peak, and a couple of major omissions
that were missed in previous editings of the book - such as the immigration procedures, preferred method of capital punishment, and similar. New plans in the works for
this book are to add a section for non-military grade civilian equipment - stuff often overlooked in many of Palladium's books. Plans for new books are popping up all
the time as well. As where my next World Book planned was supposed to be Desert Star, I have been commissioned to complete a further world book prior to that project -
this one, however, will have to remain a secret until such a time as it is complete. Suffice it to say, it's a REALLY exciting book, that can add some serious sparks
to your' campaigns - I wish I could tell you more, but mums the word. I'll be publishing more details here as the project nears completion! 8:16PM 4/8/05 - Well folks it's 2005, and this is my first "official" update on the status of SirTenzan's RIFTS
Gallery. I've got to tell you though, the update has not been delayed by being idle. As a matter of fact HUGE sweeping changes are in the works for SirTenzan's RIFTS
Gallery. The web-books aside, everything else is getting a face lift, new text, new material, the works! The power armor creation table, one of the favorite
attractions of the site throughout the '90s, has now been completely reworked. There are illustrations now, tons of new power armor systems, new elaborations on old
systems, and so much more. I've also gone through all of the old power armor, and have reworked EVERYTHING. If any of you sharp eyed folks out there have gone through
the power armor creation process and tried to emulate the power armor I've added, based on the suits described in Cyberpunk 2020's now defunct sourcebook Maximum
Metal, you I'm sure have noticed that nothing adds up. Well - that's changed. I've also written up the stats to the S-Mart SAMAS, which is only slightly different from
the USA SAMAS found in the pages of RIFTS World Book 15: Spirit West. Palladium's web policy prevents me from reposting the details of this piece of equipment, except
to describe the differences. For the rest of the material - I'm afraid you'll need that book. In my rewrite of a lot of these older sections, you'll also note that
I've added a lot more "see details on pg....", in my haste of writing this stuff in the past, I foolishly wrote the details down rather than do this. I apologize to
Palladium Books for this oversight - it has now been repaired. Also added is the S-Mart 49er, a suit of mining power armor. New illustrations have been added to a
number of different S-Mart creations, and there are more yet to come, either scanned from references on hand, or done the old fashioned way on Windows Paint. If they
look boxy or unrealistic to you - well, you'll understand why. I'm an author - not an artist. ;o) At least though, with this work, you'll get an idea of what something
looks like. I still have some preliminary work to do before I post these massive updates, but once it's ready I am going to begin with the long task of updating
everything here. Meanwhile, take a look around at what is here now, and if something is there you don't like, or think needs fixing - drop me a line! I'll take a look
at it, and if it's not fixed yet, it will be. One more thing that I've been considering is relocating SirTenzan's RIFTS Gallery to another site, since Tripod chooses
to bombard their non-paying member sights with pop up ads and page top ads. It never used to be this way, I assure you - it used to be a simple ad at the bottom of
every page, I miss those days, as do the viewers of this site. In any case, more updates of the site are to follow! Thanks, and enjoy! 6:40PM 4/11/05 - Possibly some bad news for SirTenzan's RIFTS Gallery. A great deal of the materials produced for S-
Mart are based entirely upon Cyberpunk 2020 materials, that until just a couple of hours ago, I believed were long out of production. As it turns out that material,
specifically material from the sourcebook Maximum Metal, is still in production. Though I have included a blurb where ever I used these images, indicating where they
came from, it may still have not been enough. I have contacted R. Talsorian Games in reference to this subject, in the hopes that this does not mean that I will have
to remove these entirely, but they may very well reply that I must. That is their right - they paid for these artists interpretations, I did not. If this turns out to
be the case, I may just shut down the Gallery entirely. So much of my material, including the Kingdom of Desert Star, and the Republic of Wa-Daisho, was built and
sustained by the use of these materials in our game. The only other option is the use of my meager artistry skills to create new images of these vehicles, sufficiently
altered to fit those in our game. As those of you who are familiar with this book and this web site may know, aside from the visage of the vehicles and power armor
being similar, there is little they have in common. Nowhere in the pages of that book are things mentioned such as Project Archive, S-Mart, pretty much any of the
weapons, few of the systems, or even most of the names I have used for these vehicles. Heavy machine guns and cannons became rail guns or rapid fire field cannons,
submachine guns became ramjet machine cannons, and beam weapons are far more common in S-Mart than in Cyberpunk 2020. One could hardly even consider them the same -
but the fact of the matter remains that they ARE based on these designs. I will keep you all informed as the situation develops. I suppose this is a poor time to
mention, but over the course of the past few days, I have developed a power armor creation table for Northern Gun, as well as a new power armor design for S-Mart
called the Hercules, essentially a heavy lift type, electrically powered, that operates as a two legged forklift. 6:51AM 5/10/05 - Well ladies and gents, the last update wasn't very cheery, thankfully this one is much better. As it
turned out R. Talsorian Game's policies revolved around text matter, not the art, for some strange reason. I never received an indication of what to do about the art -
so I have to assume that all is well, so long as I include disclaimers of where the art was taken from. Thus, all is well with SirTenzan's RIFTS Gallery! I have been
doing a LOT of work editing and reworking a lot of material for S-Mart as of late. Most significantly was a complete revision of the custom power armor creation rules.
This stuff is EXCELLENT and includes several dimensions of power armor creation not even touched on in the first version. I warn you though, there's a lot more math
work to be done on this version, I hope that doesn't frighten you! Word of advice - have a calculator handy. In the process of working on that I came to a very sad
conclusion about Palladium Book's own power armor and robot vehicles. Sorry to say it, chummeroos, but they pull a lot of numbers out of their' collective posteriors.
Take for example the RIFTS World Book 11: Coalition War Campaign. Look at the Hellfire and look at the Glitterboy Killer. You see that those things are separated only
by weapons, a minor difference in width, a difference of 5 P.S., a modest difference of 40 M.D.C. - now look at those two suit's weight. The Glitterboy killer weighs
in at 2 tons - yet the Hellfire comes in at 25 tons?! In the words of the internet, WTF?! These new rules I have compiled for power armor creation, can actually extend
to robot vehicle creation, but I have not decided as to whether or not to make that stretch yet. Robot vehicles and power armor have a sort of 'cusp' difference
between the two, once suits get to 10' in height or so. Working off of the new formulae for height/weight ratios, I can concoct reasonably realistic robot vehicles
with a more realistic weight than those listed in the RIFTS Books. The real drawback though, is coming up with the heavier systems, and heavier weapon systems that
would be available to these robot vehicles. I don't know if I'm willing to go through all of that - especially since this round of updates was intended just to fix an
E-mail link at the bottom of each page, and to straighten out some old crusty pages from back in '96-'97. After all I've got a family, a job, and a book to write to
worry about as well! Time will tell what I decide to do. If ya'll read this, send me some feedback on what I should do, would you like to see robot vehicle creation
rules from S-Mart? Just so you know, those new rules revisions are NOT on the page just yet. I want to complete the whole lot before I start posting anything. 5:17AM 5/16/05 - Bonsai! Er ... I mean Banzai ... yeah ... that's it. A month of work has passed by, and the update
is FINALLY completed! Let me tell you, this has been some extremely trying work. Have you ever written something before, and gone back to look at it - oh - eight or
nine years later, and said; "Man, this really stinks!" Well let me tell you, I've been saying that a LOT over the past month. As a result you will find that a great
deal of SirTenzan's RIFTS Gallery material has been heavily rewritten and reworked in many ways. You will observe that NONE of the Wa-Daisho vehicles, weapons, armor,
or anything is even recognizable when compared to their' previous incarnations. There's just no way to compare them - they are VASTLY improved, in terms of graphics,
in terms of stat consistency, and story line. I've added a couple of new character descriptions to the list of files available, including the enigmatic assassin known
only as Silk, I updated Ace Ripley, and did I happen to mention reworked or fabricated entirely new graphics for dozens of pages?! This is the biggest update
SirTenzan's RIFTS Gallery has seen since September of 1999, and although time consuming, I'm glad to see it completed. Completed? Did I say that, hardly. This site is
nowhere near being completely finished though - let me tell you why. Wa-Daisho World Book A is creeping along towards completion, and when it's done, it's going to be
a monster of an adventuring guide to the Pacific North West. Characters will be able to spend weeks there and never get bored - because there's lots to do, lots to
see, and lots to buy - not to mention lots of heroic stuff that needs to be done too. When the book is completed Wa-Daisho will be torn down and reworked entirely,
using the data straight out of the completed book, but in addition to that, I will include a downloadable zip file containing the completed book. What's more, is that
this update series has also peaked my interest in reworking Desert Star as well. While that's still a ways into the future - it will be done. With all of the work that
I've done recently on it, the S-Mart Sourcebook will be a breeze to slap together. The N.O.M.A.D. Military Sourcebook will also be relatively easy. Desert Star? Well,
that'll need a LOT of work, especially since the political intrigue between the wealthy new noble class will play a HUGE and complicated role in things. If you like in
depth role play, with that sort of theme, you'll love that book. You'll even get quite a taste of that in Wa-Daisho, I must add. Well, that's enough for now. Enjoy the
update, and send me an E-mail telling me what you think about what I've done with the page. As always if you find broken links or pictures that don't work, let me
know, and I'll get right on fixing it. 6:12PM 5/18/05 - It took me a bit longer to get the page put together than I expected. After I wrote the last entry
here on the updates page, I suffered a major bout with food poisoning, sorry for the delay, but I was sicker than a dog! After my recovery, and a subsequent (un)
healthy dose of pepto, I started working on getting the pages uploaded to Tripod. It took me forever to get it all sorted out, fix the few glitches I encountered, and
page through the web site to make certain everything was in it's proper place. It all looks good to me! I'm taking a break from writing for a little while, as it seems
time to get a new line of work, but I'm going to try to scan in a few more gif files to illustrate some of S-Marts wares in the coming weeks. Thanks for looking, and
drop me a line! E-mail feedback is always appreciated! 6:16PM 5/19/05 - Okay, so much for not writing anymore. I was bored this evening, and so I decided to go ahead and
put up the details on the Dragonguard O.C.C.. I've had these details hand written for almost two years now, and figured, "Ya know, that might be handy for folks to
have!" Anyway, so there it is for you. Check out the O.C.C.'s & R.C.C.'s page, and you'll find it listed under Desert Star. You can also find it linked to the
N.O.M.A.D. Military page. 6:01PM 5/25/05 - It never rains, but it pours - as they say. I no sooner get over the stomach flu but then I get the
spring cold - go figure. Anyway, between the fevers, I've been doing a bit of writing here and there. Most recently I completed the description of Shiunren, a small
town on Vancouver Island, north of Silverstone. It's an interesting place with views on magic that clash strongly with the principles of the Republic, but for a very
interesting and real world sort of reason. Don't go looking for the details just yet though, these are going in the book. When the book is completed - then I'll add
the updates here. This update included some late alterations to Angel Peak, mostly in the form of metric conversions for the dimensions of structures, and the same for
Avery. The mapping for Wa-Daisho's communities is coming along nicely as well. Angel Peak's map is very near completion, and about half of Wa-Daisho City is also
completed. 3:33AM 5/26/05 - I have completed the Angel Peak Map, and find it to be one of the most detailed and precise city
maps yet rendered for any town in the RIFTS role playing game. When I'm finished with the other maps though - just wait and see, you're going to love what I've been
cooking up. On a more somber note, today is May 26th, 2005. A seemingly insignificant date for anyone else - but a sinister date for myself. Ten years ago, to the very
day, something horrible happened to me. I was abandoned by my first true love, Dafni Eileen Willis, without explaination, without pause, and without any means of
either learning the reasons why or to achieve reproval for what mystery crime I committed against her to force her to leave in such a fashion. This date I have dreaded
for years - now it is upon me once again. What's more a decade now has passed since I last laid eyes upon her. My life, as I knew it then, ended on that date, you see.
The family we had planned in unison, the children we had discussed, the marriage, the cohabitation plans, the draftsman career I had so looked forward to, everything -
crumbled in one fell swoop. It was like death - only worse. With death it is great pain followed by peaceful serenity. With this, my body lived, even while my heart
died. I came close to ending the pain - but only one thought stalled my hand from action. "What if Dafni found out?" No matter the pain inflicted upon me - I couldn't
bring myself to do that to her. I lost a month and a half of my life due to post traumatic stress induced amnesia, and after that started to crack apart at the seams
around my cheerless Christmas to follow. I literally started to see her in the hallways of the high school we attended together, but when I would give pursuit, she
would round a corner and be gone. Sometimes the air was so laden with her scent my eyes would fill with tears. I wholeheartedly dreaded entering the basement of the
school we once spent so much time together within. It seemed eternally doused in her scent - and with a feeling of anguish and scorn, as though whatever crime I had
committed upon her, was known to the very walls of the basement. Fearing institutionalization, I left high school once and for all shortly after the New Year of '96.
Ten years of painful speculation have passed by since, and though I attained contact with her once only a few years ago, however briefly, she still refused to explain
anything. I have moved on in life. My heart was gradually resurrected by Angelina, my wife of eight years now, but it was slow and rough going. I had serious trust
issues that were difficult to surmount, I regularly dreamed of Dafni, and had regular bouts of self-hatred for whatever unspeakable thing I committed to force her to
leave. These problems I described were never more apparent than on this date - every year. Like the wound inflicted upon Frodo on Weathertop, this injury will continue
to assail me annually. I expect it will always be this way until somehow I attain the explaination I crave so, or death finally claims the body that survived the death
of it's heart and soul. Ole Karkov is calling my name - I'll be back. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but eventually I will. 4:27PM 5/27/05 - Okay, the icky day is done, and there is no more time to dwell in the past. I dealt with it through
a fine vodka buzz, a good night's sleep, and an equally good vodka hangover. Now then - let's get back to business. As I was preparing to add this update, I noticed
something very peculiar. There were 560 page views just yesterday! What the?! Well, whoever or whatever it was, I hope you folks enjoyed it! Another few days like
that, and there goes my bandwith! ;o) Anyway, as for the update here. This afternoon I completed the initial description of Silverstone, including it's history, which
is intertwined with a tragic history of it's founder Benjamin Silverstone. The history of this fellow is a little on the graphic side, so I warn you younger readers,
but it's a heartwrenching one of tragedy, love, and ultimately dedication that comes to a close with a good ending. Afterwards I listed out the places of interest in
my typical format, I just need to flesh these out now. All told there are 20+ places of interest thus far. There may be more yet still that I have omitted, but I'm
sure I'll catch these as I continue through it. Doing all of this work on the other communities only reveals to me more that I NEED to attend to rewriting the Wa-
Daisho City places of interest. There were too many omissions in that section of the book. There are places like Wa-Daisho City Police Precincts to add, fire stations,
importer offices along the coast, immigration offices, and a bunch of stuff on the fringes of the city. When it's finished I will be rearranging the order of how the
businesses are layed out to correspond with the new district maps. 5:37AM 5/31/05 - Hello ladies and gents! A bit of news concerning RIFTS World Book A: The Republic of Wa-Daisho. I
have conducted a word count and discovered, much to my amazement, that in it's current guise this book has more words in it that J.R.R. Tolkien's book "Fellowship of
the Ring"! I was stunned to say the least. We are up to 223 pages, all told, but that still does not include the oodles of full page maps that flesh out the
communities of the Republic. Several of which are already completed, but have not yet been added to the book. I have noticed a couple of glaring errors in my many
previous representations of Wa-Daisho. Firstly, where the bloody hell are all of the construction companies that would be so common in a rapidly growing Republic?! I
plan to create at least a half dozen of these for Wa-Daisho City alone, plus a branch office for two of these in Silverstone, in addition to a local construction
company, then I'll also have one in each Avery and Angel Peak. Secondly, how are these separate cities run? Obviously the Republican Council doesn't handle EVERY
aspect of city governing - these are the heads of state after all. I'm figuring on creating an elected town council for each community, after the same fashion as the
Republican Council is laid out. I'm not going to roll out each and every N.P.C. in these councils, but I'll list occupations, alignments, levels of experience, and any
significant notes about each person in question. (Political aspirations, black market involvement, other criminal backgrounds, etc.) At this point in the writing I am
sitting mid way through the places of interest in Silverstone, the second largest community in the Republic. As I said earlier this month though, don't go looking for
the details on here just yet - you'll get to see it all once I post the book in it's entirety. One of the major edits I have conducted as of late is to reduce the
amount of repeated print. I noticed that just about every school I laid out I reprinted the grading, the curriculum, and all of that stuff. That's unnecessary to do so
- so I removed all of that reprinted crap. I know I still have more, such as the details pertaining to James Akersley, a significant businessman in Wa-Daisho, with all
of his many businesses, but I'll get to it. It'll take me weeks to edit this monstrosity I know - but it will be worth it in the end. I will be very surprised IF
nobody chooses to include Wa-Daisho in their' campaign - it's adventure qualities are nearly limitless, surprising for such a small place actually! If there is one
thing I have learned in the writing of Wa-Daisho, though, is that Detail=Adventure Hooks, and by that I mean by the barrel full. Of further significance, during my
spare time I have been conducting research for my next book. The next book will be RIFTS World Book B: The Western Highlands. This book will explore Montana, Idaho,
and Wyoming in detail. This book will include native american, simvan, and psi-stalker tribes active in these regions, their culture, their practices, and their
ongoing conflicts. Plus it will also reveal to the world a little known river pirate haven known as Crab Apple Cove, located in the Wind River Valley. In addition to
these it will also include details on the Black Winged Monster Men, a deep look at their innermost circles, their beliefs, their domains, their aspirations, and their
bloody culture. This book will be approximately 160 pages in length, by my initial guestimates, +/- 40 pages either way. I'm only in the research and outline
development phase of this book, as I intend to complete the two Wa-Daisho books first and foremost. 7:18AM 6/2/05 - A bit further along the line in the work on RIFTS World Book A: The Republic of Wa-Daisho. We're up
to 226 pages of completed text now, 180,417 words, and I just breeched the half way mark on the Silverstone Places of Interest. Lots of neat story lines being cooked
into the mix there including black marketeers, tortured memories, hunted families, and oh so very much more. A couple more productive days like this and this section
will be completed. I dropped the idea of opening a branch office for a construction company in Silverstone. Communications between Silverstone and Wa-Daisho City are
good enough so as to not warrant that. Coming along nicely though, day by day, week by week. Am I insane for doing this without any financial kickback for it?
Probably. Do I suffer from insanity though? Nope. I enjoy every minute of it. ;o) 3:05AM 6/10/05 - A little progress on RIFTS World Book A: The Republic of Wa-Daisho has transpired. I went on ahead
and went back to start working on the separate governments of the various communities within the Republic. Great stuff there, with plenty of plot hooks, and plenty of
background on these folks. Worry not though - I didn't include a full character sheet for every tom, dick, and harry in these sections - just enough to give a game
master some real meat to work with. Onto other news, I have recently attained an assignment to write for a model builder's magazine, plus will likely have secured a
regular day job for some cash by the beginning of next week. This writing assignment has gotten me thinking about writing for Palladium Books. As a result I decided to
go ahead and rewrite the air combat rules I had laid out in the House Rules section of this website, as a Rifter article! Whether or not it will ever see print, I
don't know. We'll all just have to wait and see! Wish me luck! In the meantime it is no longer available for viewing on the website. I hope this does not disappoint
any of you! Also in the news here is that I have attained permission from R. Talsorian Books to use their artwork on my website, provided that I provide the credit
where it is naturally due. 2:52AM 8/9/05 - The Rifter article mentioned in the last update was a beautiful success. All told she wound up to be
over 25 pages of spectacular detail, tables, and corrections for RIFTS products all across the board. Now that it is complete, printed up, and ready to roll - all I
need to do is slap her in the mail. From the feedback I got on the Palladium Books message boards I think it's going to be a smash hit. Be on the lookout for it! If
you don't see it soon, write to Palladium and say, "Hey! Print that RIFTS Air Combat Article, you literature nazi!" Okay, don't do that, but feel free to inquire about
it. Next, I got into a discussion about RIFTS currency on the same message boards, and so I reworked the art for the Alliance Credits in a few hours of work. These new
versions of the material look 10 times better than the old versions. Check it out! This new art will most certainly find it's way into the pages of RIFTS World Book A:
The Republic of Wa-Daisho. In other news, I am sad to announce, that no reference to Wa-Daisho, Desert Star, or Kyatashiro for that matter will ever see print in the
official RIFTS series. Unfortunately, I have come to the realization that our game world is simply too evolved and developed for Palladium Books. In our campaign, as I
mentioned on the main page, our timeline is just too different from the official story in the books. While many of our story lines are epic and of wonderful quality,
approaching, if not exceeding that in the official printings - it just doesn't fit with the Palladium standard. I'm sorry to say this, to those of you who may be
disappointed, but bear in mind - you will ALWAYS get to see it here. We've been around since '96, and I fully intend to be here when 2016 rolls around. Besides, with
the books being available on here, you will be able to get the books for free, without having to pay $35 for the two books, that likely would be released months or
even years apart. Anyway, I have started a full time job, and am still writing - hence the completion of the Rifter article. The next Rifter article deals with armored
combat, and the resistance to damage that heavy armor provides. In this article I also intend to add some new armored vehicles to the mix to try to return to the RIFTS
market the availability of conventional armored vehicles, the same way that RIFTS Mercenaries did previously. I hope you enjoy and appreciate the work! Meanwhile, the
article for Scale Aircraft Modelling is coming along nicely. I have a beautiful intro written up, I have all the reference material I could possibly need, and now all
I need is the time to complete the initial printing of the article before I start the lengthy editorial process. If any of you gamers are modelers, I invite you to
check out Scale Aircraft Modelling. It's often available at the same hobby shops you purchase your' RPG books. If this article turns out to be a success you are likely
to see much more work in there by your's truly. I have EVEN considered doing a couple of modeling projects for RIFTS! Imagine a Naruni Crescent Moon in Tolkeenite
markings, built up in 1/72 scale. How about a Megaversal Legion Neo-Apache? Or what about a Larsen's Brigade Gray Falcon? Now imagine these same models built up for
articles in that magazine! I have even thought about maybe building some RIFTS armored vehicles! The APC V would be relatively easy to do, with a vacuform machine, and
parts donated from a few other models. Stuff like robot vehicles and power armor though, those would be a bit beyond my abilities, I'm afraid. Maybe after the movie
though we'll get some resin kit manufacturers interested in doing limited run molds of these. I'll certainly make some inquiries through my contacts in the modeling
industry... 5:26AM 8/10/05 - I have updated the links page to include one new site, www.riftsguild.com. This site is an
interesting one in that it doesn't super detail things to death, but just gives game masters enough idea inspiration to really kick off their own creative juices. That
having been said, in regards to setting ideas, they do have some new occupations, some really interesting new martial arts, and a bunch of other stuff. After browsing
over it for about an hour I was able to see and read everything there, so there's not a whole lot of stuff there. From what I can see though it's certainly worthy of a
listing. If this game group keeps this up, it could turn into a really dynamic website. If you're interested, take a look at the links page, it has a brief review and
of course a functioning link. 4:12AM 10/17/05 - LOTS of updates to do. Firstly the RRVGG is in the midst of it's longest hiatus from gaming since
it was first formed back in 1991. The last time we played was in late August. Our first game MIGHT occur late this month - at least that's our goal. The younger May
family is in the process of a move, immediately following the move of the founder of the RRVGG, Jan Knoell. The reason they are so closely aligned? We bought his old
house! His three children are grown and moved away - what need did he and his wife, Sharon, have for a four bedroom home? There are some unresolved issues with the
property - but those will all be addressed in time, and with lots and lots of work. As a result all future games of the RRVGG will take place in the ample dining room
area of our new home in Halstad Minnesota. In other news, Angelina, long time RRVGG member had a bad string of health problems which we have linked to her use of the
psyche drug called Cymbalta. Beware of this medication! If your' anxiety levels go through the roof and/or you begin to experience what appear to be siezures within
the first 3-6 weeks of taking this medication - seek medical assistance immediately and have your' pharmacy fax your' doctor the side effect sheets on this medication.
If this message reaches even ONE person, it was worth taking the time to type it out, because it certainly caused a GREAT deal of undue stress. In RIFTS related news,
quite a bit of work has been done here and there on the book projects. I have added about 20 pages of material between the civilian goods, vehicles, and between the
rural places of interest descriptions. Excellent material all around and should make for some spectacular adventures. A conversation with some folks on the Palladium
message board and with a couple of individual gamers I know, led to the development of a new set of rules to rearrange the RIFTS Combat System. This revision is
perhaps the most cutting edge development made yet that eliminates the RIFTS Syndrome entirely. (The RIFTS Syndrome being 30 soldiers in light body armor with pulse
lasers ambushing a main battle tank, and taking it out within the first three seconds of a melee.) It also eliminates the entire M.D.C./S.D.C./H.P. system as well, but
these are secondary effects of the conversion, and are unnecessary if you like those aspects of the game. I will be discussing these rules at length with the RRVGG
when we convene for our next game. IF we all agree to impliment these, all future games run by the RRVGG will use this revised system. Since the conversions all rely
upon existing RIFTS terminology, however, I will continue to post the details on this site according to the old system. Besides, that will prevent you nay-sayers from
having to reconvert stuff I post, were we to decide to impliment this new rule set. I plan to submit this to Palladium Books as a Rifter article. IF it is published, I
will put a blurb here about it, referencing which Rifter it is in, and what pages. If it is not published it will be posted on this website in the house rules section.
The only other project I have been working on is editing material on the People's United Island Nation - or P.U.I.N. for short, the creation of Shane Hanson, a fellow
gamer here in Minnesota. He loves tech, loves planes, and loves to create - but he's a little disorganized, a curse of just about every overly creative person I've
ever known - myself included! PUIN is an island nation composed of three islands in the South West Pacific, where Indonesia once was, largely populated by a species of
elf and humans. They are pretty low in technology, but they make up for it in sheer enginuity. In time I hope to post P.U.I.N. on the site here, under a new tab in the
Kingdoms section, with Mr. Hanson's permission of course. Expect to see details on the history, demographics, geography, and their grand navy. In terms of technology,
plan to see a lot of old stuff, reproduced from pre-cataclysm designs but using new technology, plus plan to see some new stuff using something that sounds startlingly
similar to protoculture - with a sick twist - the mystical aspect of the substance is addictive! While I continue to work on the Wa-Daisho series of books, it's been
slow going with the move, Angelina's health, and work. Once we've settled into the new house though, expect it to pick up dramatically. My new hobby room/office will
work wonders for improving my productivity! 4:26AM 10/30/05 - The move is finally, or more or less complete. We are living in our new place in Halstad, at any
rate, so technically we are ... moved. We still have many belongings back at the old house that need to be brought up. I've been bringing loads of stuff home with me
with every return trip from work. Hopefully, one day soon, my father will be able to use his SUV or his pickup to help bring some larger loads home. In gaming news,
not much development to report, except that the RRVGG hiatus from gaming ended on the 29th of October - two months after it began. We congregated in our new dining
room yesterday morning, and gamed until 5 PM, though half of that time was consumed with getting caught up on gossip, and a thank you breakfast served by Angelina to
Tony and Jan for helping us with the move. It was quite nice! The game progressed slowly, unfortunately, but I hope to be better prepared for the next session. I was
tired, and hadn't had any time to work on the adventure, so it seemed rather generic. All GM's that I've ever known have their off days though. The next one will be
spectacular though! Lots of ideas boiling up for this next turn of events in the Darkheart campaign! In game design news, the idea of using a new system of RIFTS
combat has been brought to the table. We will be experimenting with this, not the next time we game, but likely the time after - probably the second session in
November. We will have to wait to see though. I would like to get through this next chapter in this campaign, and get on towards the final goal of the campaign before
exploring any other campaign ideas. 5:37AM 11/22/05 - In the world of the Tenzan, there is some significant news. This morning, Wayne Smith contacted me,
to tell me that my RIFTS Air to Air Combat article will be appearing in Rifter #33 in January 2006! This is very exciting for me, and I look forward to submitting
dozens of other articles. I just hope that people enjoy this first one as much as my group did. In other news, I've been working on Wa-Daisho, and S-Mart in a joint
project. I outlined a lot of technical detail for some of S-Mart's equipment so that it makes a little more sense. Essentially this is some preliminary work towards
the custom vehicle creation rules that will be appearing in the S-Mart Source Book! As it applies to Wa-Daisho, I needed the details for some of the civilian vessels
manufactured there, as they have some S-Mart systems installed. 4:26AM 12/18/05 - It has officially been announced that the RIFTS Air to Air Combat article will see print in Rifter
33. We of the RRVGG are all very excited. On a semi-related note, the RRVGG has voted, and has decided to make the plunge into the category of being an official gaming
club as of January 2006. With this decision we will be publishing a newsletter every month, hopefully with contributions from all members, rather than just from the
game master. It has certainly helped to structure our meetings more than they were previously. In the world of game design, work progresses on my latest project,
maintenance procedure for high tech energy weapons and body armor! This stuff is absolutely saucy, be on the lookout, as this one is going straight to the Rifter -
provided it is as warmly received as the Air to Air Combat article was. I have also been working here and there on the Wa-Daisho books. Both are rapidly nearing
completion. With my prior engagements and similar, I'm shooting for an early summer release for the World Book, possibly a late summer release date for the Source
Book. I promise you, you WILL be stunned with everything I've included. These are ultimate adventure guides, for weeks, months, maybe even years of constant gaming.
It's excellent, and I hope you will agree. With the Source Book approaching completion, I decided to concoct my own cover for this book. Originally I was going to go
with a simple black cover with a white view of the Kamiken - but then I started thinking about the symbol of the Republic, and so changed my mind to what it is now.
Take a look at the main page for a view of what the cover of this netbook will look like. 3:33PM 12/29/05 - After six years of the same ole same ole, we've decided to update SirTenzan's RIFTS Gallery's
layout! We hope you enjoy the changes, as they are the most dramatic change of layout since our September of 1999 update. You will also note that the RRVGG page is FAR
different from the rest of the pages, and that is entirely because of the colors of the RRVGG. Also an addition is added to the RRVGG page itself, a comprehensive
RIFTS World timeline that underscores the significant events in RRVGG gaming history since July of 1993. 9:50PM 12/31/05 - The last update of 2005, included a complete rework of the TW/Magic Items page, including a more comprehensive
listing for Rune Armor, and a few examples of Rune Armor that have appeared in our game. There are several TBA place settings, but hopefully I can fill those in, in
the coming weeks or even months. Meanwhile, for Wa-Daisho, I worked out the experience points tables for Wa-Daisho specific O.C.C.s, rather than using pre-existing
experience points tables as we had in the past. I'll work up experience points tables for the other area specific occupations described here at a later date. 12:36AM 3/13/06 - The first update of 2006 is a small one, unfortunately. I've been really busy so far this year with real life
affairs, looking for work, working on several projects for the Rifter, working on the RRVGG newsletters, and also working on and off on Wa-Daisho. Very briefly, I
considered actually attempting to have Wa-Daisho published. After careful consideration, however, I have decided against it. While it is true, Wa-Daisho is my BEST
setting created yet. It is exciting, action packed, and extremely well detailed. It does NOT have a dire conflict facing it, however, which is necessary for any good
setting to fit into the RIFTS genre. I had considered that the Vampire Wars book, the sequel to follow Wa-Daisho: 125PA, would add that conflict to the Republic.
However, with Arzno already appearing as a setting with the Vampires as the villain, it would hardly make sense that the distant threat of the Vampires would become
that significant of a threat to this island nation, by canon RIFTS material. Thus, Wa-Daisho will remain as a netbook, a favorite private creation of a writer-to-be.
Desert Star AND Kyatashiro will appear in book form after Wa-Daisho is completed, just as planned. In my published works, you can expect a lot from me. I have several
projects underway for the Rifter. I am planning a series of stories about heroic characters in the RIFTS setting, an article on Energy Weapon Maintenance, and a series
of articles on two obscure races in the Three Galaxies that are about to serve as the crucible to a possible intergalactic war. While I have been encouraged to save
this project for a canon dimension book by fellow freelancers, at this point I am still planning to write them as Rifter submissions. Perhaps, like those who came
before me with the Arzno project, I will be asked to put this into book form after the fact. We'll see. Meanwhile, for the web site, I have put up two all new
creations in the House Rules section! The first is a new way to advance characters skills. It is similar to the old system, but with an added twist; skills can now
atrophy to near uselessness. I have also added by-level advancements for physical skills as well, making those old goldies a whole lot more interesting than they were
before. Take a look and see. Beware the power creep, however. These skills could potentially make characters significant power-houses! I have also added a new combat
system that the RRVGG is experimenting with, that entirely does away with mega-damage! It's a beauty that makes S.D.C. weapons actually semi-viable in a setting
dominated by energy weapons. In some ways it makes more sense than the current RIFTS system, but it really does change the flavour of things, perhaps too much. We'll
see once the play-testing gets further along. Back to the Wa-Daisho project though, I have created some new weapons for the Republic's armed forces, the Red Devils.
These weapons will be appearing in the Wa-Daisho: 125PA book. Since our characters are currently operating in the January 121PA timeline, however, some of this
material is pertinent to our current game, which is why I went into the effort to create them. The first one I created is the Type 7/20 'Scout' Variable Spectrum Pulse
Laser Rifle. Essentially it is the old Type 7 VSPLR, but with an added feature in the form of a pump action charger, similar in design to the plunger on the NA-LB1
Laser Bow. It's a really neat looking weapon that gives the old beast a tech-evil look, from all the cuts they made in weight, to counter the weight of the pump action
generator. Unlike the Laser Bow this weapon has the disadvantage of not being able to use an energy clip, so once the internal stores are drained, you have to manually
recharge it. After completing that I went back and looked over the old Type 22 Blue-Green Spectrum Pulse Laser Rifle I sketched out late the year before last. It
looked like crap, so I went on ahead and remade it, and I've got to say - it looks wicked! This is set to be a new classic, because of all it's optional attachments.
The next additions I plan to make here is to HTMLize some of the monsters and animals I have created for the Wa-Daisho setting. Beyond that I hope to add far more of
the book to various parts of that section of this site, before actually putting the finished pdf file up for download. I am aiming for an early summer release, but
don't quote me on that. I said the same thing last year, and I've still got quite a ways to go on it. Silverstone is only partially described, and I still have to
cover Taylorville yet, plus I have to complete the city maps, do the section on Midnight Blue, touch up the civilian equipment section, and include the
encounter/adventuring tables. I figure this will encompass at the very least 50-100 more pages. If I buckle down though, I can have that done within two months. 1:08PM 4/26/06 - I have made two updates within the past week, the first of which did not receive mention here due to time restraints,
and the second just now occurred. The first update was in regards to the "Save Palladium Books" drive launched on April 18th. I included a Wayne Breaux Jr. black and
white art, with the logo on it, with notes on just how we gamers can help Palladium Books. See the main page for details. Today, it was announced on the Palladium
Books Forum just who the scumbag was who did this - Steven Sheiring. Steve is a pig faced fellow who has long been behind the scenes at Palladium. On SirTenzan's RIFTS
Gallery, our errata section has carried answers from employees of Palladium Books to various questions for some time. Among those were four produced by Steven
Sheiring. I decided that since this fellow had no love for the game/company, at least so little as to go about stealing these items and cash, how much could he
seriously know about the system? As such I have removed these four answers from SirTenzan's RIFTS Gallery's Errata section. May the Gods speed you in your' struggle
for survival Palladium, and carry you forward for all that you have done for us in the past. 7:45PM 5/6/06 - The first update of May! Today two new R.C.C.s were added for the Phase World setting. These two races were originally
created by RRVGG newcomer, Chris Muhm, for the D20 Star Wars system. These races were then adapted by Edward A. May using the rules for creating alien races, with a
couple of tweeks here and there to fit the bill. Also added was a brief snippet on the main RIFTS Gallery page telling about the arrival of our two newest members. A
HUGE update for the RRVGG website is planned, but we are still waiting on a couple of introductory profile submissions, namely from Anthony, Dennis, Sue, and Levi. As
soon as those are submitted - the update will be placed. 5:23AM 5/8/06 - A BIG update for SirTenzan's RIFTS Gallery. After adding the two races a couple of days ago, I decided to also add the
monsters created for RIFTS World Book A: The Republic of Wa-Daisho. Consider this a sneak peak towards the book! (Look to the Monsters tab on the left hand side of the
page.) While I was at it, I also added a brief description to each creature, so that people wouldn't just be looking at weird names of things and wondering which
creature might fit their adventures. 2:10AM 7/12/06 - It has been more than two months since the site has received any special attention. I have been swamped with my work
search, spending time updating my main web site, and spending time with my family. In addition to this I have been working on a number of projects for publication. I
should mention here that there is a distinct possibility that much of this site over the coming years will be torn down. The reasons for this are simple; it is a
gallery of works that I personally have written. With this work already complete, I may wish to submit some of this work to Palladium either for publication in the
Rifter or in one or more complete books. With this having been said, I have presented the concepts and notions of Wa-Daisho and Desert Star to Mr. Siembieda, president
of Palladium Books, which themselves compose a vast amount of the information presented on this gallery. If they are accepted for further development the material
displayed here on the topic will be torn down - and you will have to purchase the books themselves to find the information anew. I know, I know, I can already hear it;
"But you said that you wouldn't submit these?!" <.<; Yes, I did, didn't I? I'm sorry if this causes any mixed feelings. While yes, I did say that, I didn't ever really
consider them to be publishable materials to begin with, since we had so many timeline differences. In recent months I have thought the topic over, long and hard, and
I have been considering reworking much of my material to fit the canon RIFTS setting rather than our own lengthy timeline. It will be a LOT of work, but work that I am
willing to attend to. I love these places as though they were my home towns. Wa-Daisho, I can close my eyes, and see every landmark as clearly in my mind as I can see
the houses and streets of this town I now live in. Desert Star is much the same in my eyes. They are labours of love - and I would truly love to see these works become
canon material that would allow countless others to enjoy playing in these settings. Meanwhile, there is the distinct possibility that Wa-Daisho and Desert Star will
NOT be accepted for publication. They do not fit into the canon timeline, their locations contradict what has been previously stated to exist in those places, and they
do not fit their immediate settings. If they are accepted at all - you will be the first to know. If they are not, well, then you will still be able to observe them
here at the very least. Either way Wa-Daisho & Desert Star will survive. Meanwhile I still have not submitted my ultra modern weapons maintenance and modifications
article, but I have touched on it a few times, and I have also been working on a couple of other articles in the meantime. One is a currency article and the other I'd
rather not talk about just yet. ;-) Suffice it to say, you will see a lot more published by me in the coming months - if all goes according to plan, that is. 11:12AM 9/25/06 - Many changes have been made to the site overall. The RRVGG site has FINALLY been updated as I have finally decided
against waiting for photos of all of the RRVGG members to proceed with its display. This includes an updated campaign list, our newest issues of the newsletter, and an
update to our campaign badges throughout. As for the main site itself there are a few changes. Aside from a few minor updates throughout, the most regretful change is
the availability of Wa-Daisho. Though you see the Wa-Daisho page still listed it has been password protected, plus the monsters and O.C.C.s from this region have been
moved to a secure site exclusively available to members of the RRVGG. They will remain there pending the decision on whether it is accepted for publication. Along with
this major change - as mentioned on the main page - the plans for the RRVGG Netbooks have been cancelled until after a decision is made on whether or not Wa-Daisho and
it's sequel titles are accepted for canon publication. While it is planned to also submit Desert Star this is at least a year to two years away and as such they will
remain on the site in their present form. Even still, Wa-Daisho is a long way from publication. I have to change a great deal of it to fit canon timelines from its
founder, to when it was founded, to some of the setting details. Meanwhile I have to do a good bit of research on the Haida so I can write up a more comprehensive
understanding for their culture and practices so that Palladium knows more about the arch-villains in this setting. As I stated on the main Gallery, I hope you all
support me in this matter and understand my desire to see Wa-Daisho become a canon setting. While my first truly detailed setting - it remains one of the best and
unique settings I have yet devised. 6:45AM 12/1/06 - A 'small' development in S-Mart's Aircraft section was added over the past week. Included are the long awaited
Whirlwind, Hermes, and Skytruck. The Skytruck was the most in-depth of the three I developed, including profile views of each variant produced, plus a ventral, dorsal,
and head-on view of the Skytruck-A. Take a look - I had lots of fun writing this one! While all three types added are non-combat types, frankly, I think aerial
transportation is one of those areas oft neglected by folks who create RIFTS vehicles. Simply put, it's the safest, fastest, and most reliable way to travel on RIFTS
Earth. VERY few monsters can fly at speeds even approaching the slowest transport plane out there, and comparatively few can teleport their way into the flight path
either. Plus most monsters, brigands, and the like aren't just lugging around medium ranged missiles that can really reach out and snag an overflying aircraft. Anyway,
I hope adding these creations will enrich your' gaming experience. 12:16AM 12/23/06 - After a week's worth of work, a 'small' update has been made to the RRVGG exclusive portion of SirTenzan's RIFTS
Gallery. RRVGG club members, ignore the dates you see on the new section, as these are updated according to the canon-hopeful version of Wa-Daisho. Aside from the
dates, however, this new material will serve as an excellent visual for our Mighty Typhoon campaign! 3:48AM 1/31/07 - While there is no new material to present to the regular viewers of SirTenzan's RIFTS Gallery, there is considerable
work in motion on the RRVGG Exclusive Wa-Daisho material! Our ye olde tyme viewers will remember Wa-Daisho as a new nation trying to survive amidst the turbulence of
the sea in the Pacific North West. This time around, Wa-Daisho is like Shakespear with a strap-on, with more story twists, more background, more adventure, and a far
more dramatic setting! This is a ready built setting to launch a series of desperate sea based campaigns from, that will absolutely blow your' players minds away. You
want to join American setting groups with those in Tritonia/Japan/China/Australia/Russia/South America? Wa-Daisho is the setting from which all of that can take off!
At this time the RRVGG is hard at work play testing these materials in our Mighty Typhoon campaign. With the repeated requests to continue with the campaign, I can
only guess that this means I'm doing some good work. I hope that you will agree! At this time I'm expecting a possible submission date of mid to late Summer. After
that though the decision is in the hands of Palladium Books. If you crave a sea campaign setting that is functional from the beginning, complete with villains, heroes,
tons of new gear, maps galore, new occupations, interesting story lines, and a real melting pot culture to flesh out role play; There is only one Palladium product in
the works that can provide all of that; and that, my friends, is Wa-Daisho. 9:54PM 3/4/12 - It has been forever since I've updated this site, thank goodness Tripod doesn't clean up very often. Where to even
begin.. The RRVGG has been disbanded for about four years now, due to family issues and some drama that emerged within the group. Only recently have we begun to
congregate in a small group to game again. I am still active in creating new materials BUT I have terrible news. The RIFTS World Book AND Sourcebook I have been
working on, quite literally, for years is gone thanks to a short in my old computer. I have perhaps 20-30% of the work I originally had still in hard copy and as such
its not as though everything is lost. If nothing else this was a blessing in disguise. I overdid it with much of my old work, focusing too hard on details that would
have no impact or bearing on campaigns, and in terms of the dreaded power-creep, I have a better handle on balance in the game system. Perhaps the biggest blow was the
loss of all of my conception art and detailed maps of the communities for the nation I was designing, but with a clean slate I can straighten things up a bit. I've
completely abandoned the name "The Republic of Wa-Daisho" in favor of "The Republic of the Misty Isles" and have revised a great deal of information pertaining to it,
including ways of integrating elements of recent World Books to validate why the Republic has remained a mysterious enigma for so long. As I will be backing up data
here in case of another computer crash, I hope to update this site on a routine basis again. 11:03AM 3/8/12 - I've been doing considerable work to try to get things back up to snuff around here. I can't even begin to explain
how many gaps in information there was between what I had on my fried hard drive and what was on this website. Thankfully I obsessed over the project so much a great
deal of it is still in mind. I've been talking with my wife lately about this turn of events and I think in all reality the loss of the existing data was a blessing in
disguise. This will give me a chance to actually rebuild things the way that they were meant to be, part of which being getting rid of the dreaded power creep that I
was so guilty of. I'm not saying that I'm abandoning the advanced technology acquired through Wa-Daisho (Now called Misty Isles) and Desert Star's relationship, but I
do intend to tone it down a tad and try to look at it from an objective viewpoint for game balance. A few years ago I mentioned the Mighty Typhoon campaign, with
gamers moving on, we never really did accomplish much but we are preparing to start a new campaign that will bring elements of the Republic of New Haven to Japan;
Included among those going are the children of the nation's founder - Tamiya Nyan! While it may sound cheap, it's as though it was destiny that he become ronin, to
find his path, and then bring his children up with values that may well change the fate of all of Japan. Anyway, The Republic of New Haven is now available to see for
one and all, even if some of the links say Wa-Daisho, bear in mind I have a LOT of reworking to do on this website. There are also additional changes being made with
the Kingdom of Desert Star, including a substantial portion of its story, and S-Mart is being changed to the Royal Armory of Desert Star or R.A.D.S. for short. Keep
checking in and enjoy, hopefully it will enrich your' adventures and campaigns - who knows; One day you may see the Misty Isles in a RIFTS Book one day. 10:14PM 7/18/12 - The web site is a bit of a mess at the moment, but its mere growing pains as the vestiges of Wa-Daisho are purged in
favor of a more balanced and exciting setting that its closer to a canon stand in; The Republic of Misty Isles. I've been working on a lot of illustrations as of late,
revising timelines, technology, history all the while updating the military. I've also been rethinking the direction of the nation as a whole. I have severed the
relationship between New Haven and The Three Galaxies to remedy some of the power creep and stuck with existing technologies that were borrowed from Desert Star and
developed in different directions. Despite that, after the fall of Tolkeen and the granting of asylum to many Tolkeenite citizens rescued during the fall of that
Kingdom, New Haven acquired a great deal of techno-wizardry expertise that rivals if not exceeds the Hope Barony. Already elements of their experience is being
introduced to both military and civil applications. I am considering taking the Misty Isles in a direction that might well make it the first Earthbound nation to have
a presence in orbit since the cataclysm. Access to orbit would grant them the ability to monitor events around the world, intercede if absolutely necessary, and if war
ever finds its ways to the shores of the Republic a shocking way to strike the enemy at will anywhere and at any time. The adventures of the former Tolkeenite Airship,
renamed the Aoikaze (Blue Wind), under the employ of New Haven have only just begun in the fated return of the Tamiya family to the Empire of Japan. What will become
of them and their involvement with Japan as a whole remains to be seen. The Kingdom of Desert Star hasn't been forgotten either but a great deal of change is necessary
there as well, some of which may even be found on those pages already. Queen Shaquela is a kind ruler and treats her citizens well but her sympathy for those that do
not enjoy the comforts of her citizens may well force the N.O.M.A.D. military to begin a campaign of expansion and a series of new alliances that would place Desert
Star as the core of a new United Kingdoms of Western America. Meanwhile trouble brews far to the south, the ancient Aztec deities having usurped the rule of the
Vampires and united them under one common banner. All signs point towards an organized invasion Northward; But why? What is their objective and in what direction do
they intend to advance? Who will oppose them, and can the feudal nations of North America repel such an invasion? Anyway, I am continuing my work to organize the Misty
Isles and then will turn my focus towards Desert Star as I have for many years now. 10:17PM 10/12/12 - Since the loss of all of my data on Wa-Daisho/Desert Star I've been given a lot of time to think about both
settings. How much do I reconstruct? Was it as good as I had thought more than a decade ago when I initially began laying the foundations to both? Would there have
been matters I would have handled differently? Naturally new ideas and concepts have come to me in the aftermath of the catastrophic loss of data - but all in all I
don't think it was entirely a bad development. This page will likely become a test bed, a proving ground if you will, for new materials I would like to include in
canon submissions. If you are interested in becoming an official play-tester for The Misty Isles/Desert Star story lines and/or equipment please drop me a line and I
would be happy to further development, post the materials and mail you the addresses for these materials. Among the interesting developments that I have included thus
far are a few matters, from political to technological. I am working carefully with New Haven to further the story line of their ambition to reach orbit and parts of
how they intend to achieve this feat. Early in our campaign story line the location that would later become the city of New Haven was the final North American
battleground against the dreaded Mechanoids. With the advent of Naruni and the Mechanoid presence a revolutionary technology that was being experimented more than two
decades ago in our true to life timeline has appeared in North America in its completed form. One of the standpoints behind the foundation of New Haven has always been
adaptation and innovation to allow them an edge against numerically and fanatically superior adversaries. Thus I have considered carefully the repercussions of
granting New Haven a previously impossible ace in the hole for RIFTS Earth; Anti-Gravity Technology. While I have no intention of going overboard by suddenly giving
them gravity cannons and the like, Republican Industries has steadily been developing more practical and feasible applications of anti-gravity technology for the
military. This is one of The Misty Isles' deepest secrets, concealed behind a web of lies suggesting that what anti-gravity capabilities they may appear to have were
in fact acquired from extra-dimensional sources. I don't intend for everything under the sun to have these capabilities, remember, the technology is closely guarded.
For the moment though anti-gravity tech has been employed in a hybrid fighter design, outnumbered by conventional fighters in domestic service, and will likely in time
also come to play a role in their tenuous reach for the stars. After that - it's in the air as to how far this technology will go; Quite literally. Meanwhile for
Desert Star they have their own advantages. Their development of electromagnetic weapons and propulsion systems are beyond anything like that in North America - but
that is not their only advantage. The Shining Kingdom has a great deal hidden within the depths of Project Archive that have absolutely nothing to do with the plethora
of pre-cataclysm tech hidden beneath its chrome coated walls - but everything to do with the Queen's origins and the truth behind her place in her own world as well as
this remote region of North America.
RIFTS World timeline that underscores the significant events in RRVGG gaming history since July of 1993. 9:50PM 12/31/05 - The last update of 2005, included a complete rework of the TW/Magic Items page, including a more
comprehensive listing for Rune Armor, and a few examples of Rune Armor that have appeared in our game. There are several TBA place settings, but hopefully I can fill
those in, in the coming weeks or even months. Meanwhile, for Wa-Daisho, I worked out the experience points tables for Wa-Daisho specific O.C.C.s, rather than using
pre-existing experience points tables as we had in the past. I'll work up experience points tables for the other area specific occupations described here at a later
date. 12:36AM 3/13/06 - The first update of 2006 is a small one, unfortunately. I've been really busy so far this year with
real life affairs, looking for work, working on several projects for the Rifter, working on the RRVGG newsletters, and also working on and off on Wa-Daisho. Very
briefly, I considered actually attempting to have Wa-Daisho published. After careful consideration, however, I have decided against it. While it is true, Wa-Daisho is
my BEST setting created yet. It is exciting, action packed, and extremely well detailed. It does NOT have a dire conflict facing it, however, which is necessary for
any good setting to fit into the RIFTS genre. I had considered that the Vampire Wars book, the sequel to follow Wa-Daisho: 125PA, would add that conflict to the
Republic. However, with Arzno already appearing as a setting with the Vampires as the villain, it would hardly make sense that the distant threat of the Vampires would
become that significant of a threat to this island nation, by canon RIFTS material. Thus, Wa-Daisho will remain as a netbook, a favorite private creation of a writer-
to-be. Desert Star AND Kyatashiro will appear in book form after Wa-Daisho is completed, just as planned. In my published works, you can expect a lot from me. I have
several projects underway for the Rifter. I am planning a series of stories about heroic characters in the RIFTS setting, an article on Energy Weapon Maintenance, and
a series of articles on two obscure races in the Three Galaxies that are about to serve as the crucible to a possible intergalactic war. While I have been encouraged
to save this project for a canon dimension book by fellow freelancers, at this point I am still planning to write them as Rifter submissions. Perhaps, like those who
came before me with the Arzno project, I will be asked to put this into book form after the fact.
Since our characters are currently operating in the January 121PA timeline, however, some of this

whether or not Wa-Daisho and it's sequel titles are accepted for canon publication. While it is planned to also submit Desert Star this is at least a year to two years
away and as such they will remain on the site in their present form. Even still, Wa-Daisho is a long way from publication. I have to change a great deal of it to fit
canon timelines from its founder, to when it was founded, to some of the setting details. Meanwhile I have to do a good bit of research on the Haida so I can write up
a more comprehensive understanding for their culture and practices so that Palladium knows more about the arch-villains in this setting. As I stated on the main
Gallery, I hope you all support me in this matter and understand my desire to see Wa-Daisho become a canon setting. While my first truly detailed setting - it remains
one of the best and unique settings I have yet devised. 6:45AM 12/1/06 - A 'small' development in S-Mart's Aircraft section was added over the past week. Included are the
long awaited Whirlwind, Hermes, and Skytruck. The Skytruck was the most in-depth of the three I developed, including profile views of each variant produced, plus a
ventral, dorsal, and head-on view of the Skytruck-A. Take a look - I had lots of fun writing this one! While all three types added are non-combat types, frankly, I
think aerial transportation is one of those areas oft neglected by folks who create RIFTS vehicles. Simply put, it's the safest, fastest, and most reliable way to
travel on RIFTS Earth. VERY few monsters can fly at speeds even approaching the slowest transport plane out there, and comparatively few can teleport their way into
the flight path either. Plus most monsters, brigands, and the like aren't just lugging around medium ranged missiles that can really reach out and snag an overflying
aircraft. Anyway, I hope adding these creations will enrich your' gaming experience. 12:16AM 12/23/06 - After a week's worth of work, a 'small' update has been made to the RRVGG exclusive portion of
SirTenzan's RIFTS Gallery. RRVGG club members, ignore the dates you see on the new section, as these are updated according to the canon-hopeful version of Wa-Daisho.
Aside from the dates, however, this new material will serve as an excellent visual for our Mighty Typhoon campaign! 3:48AM 1/31/07 - While there is no new material to present to the regular viewers of SirTenzan's RIFTS Gallery, there
is considerable work in motion on the RRVGG Exclusive Wa-Daisho material! Our ye olde tyme viewers will remember Wa-Daisho as a new nation trying to survive amidst the
turbulence of the sea in the Pacific North West. This time around, Wa-Daisho is like Shakespear with a strap-on, with more story twists, more background, more
adventure, and a far more dramatic setting! This is a ready built setting to launch a series of desperate sea based campaigns from, that will absolutely blow your'
players minds away. You want to join American setting groups with those in Tritonia/Japan/China/Australia/Russia/South America? Wa-Daisho is the setting from which all
of that can take off! At this time the RRVGG is hard at work play testing these materials in our Mighty Typhoon campaign. With the repeated requests to continue with
the campaign, I can only guess that this means I'm doing some good work. I hope that you will agree! At this time I'm expecting a possible submission date of mid to
late Summer. After that though the decision is in the hands of Palladium Books. If you crave a sea campaign setting that is functional from the beginning, complete
with villains, heroes, tons of new gear, maps galore, new occupations, interesting story lines, and a real melting pot culture to flesh out role play; There is only
one Palladium product in the works that can provide all of that; and that, my friends, is Wa-Daisho. 9:54PM 3/4/12 - It has been forever since I've updated this site, thank goodness Tripod doesn't clean up very often.
Where to even begin.. The RRVGG has been disbanded for about four years now, due to family issues and some drama that emerged within the group. Only recently have we
begun to congregate in a small group to game again. I am still active in creating new materials BUT I have terrible news. The RIFTS World Book AND Sourcebook I have
been working on, quite literally, for years is gone thanks to a short in my old computer. I have perhaps 20-30% of the work I originally had still in hard copy and as
such its not as though everything is lost. If nothing else this was a blessing in disguise. I overdid it with much of my old work, focusing too hard on details that
would have no impact or bearing on campaigns, and in terms of the dreaded power-creep, I have a better handle on balance in the game system. Perhaps the biggest blow
was the loss of all of my conception art and detailed maps of the communities for the nation I was designing, but with a clean slate I can straighten things up a bit.
I've completely abandoned the name "The Republic of Wa-Daisho" in favor of "The Republic of West Haven" and have revised a great deal of information pertaining to it,
including ways of integrating elements of recent World Books to validate why the Republic has remained a mysterious enigma for so long. As I will be backing up data
here in case of another computer crash, I hope to update this site on a routine basis again. 11:03AM 3/8/12 - I've been doing considerable work to try to get things back up to snuff around here,. I can't even
begin to explain how many gaps in information there was between what I had on my fried hard drive and what was on this website. Thankfully I obsessed over the project
so much a great deal of it is still in mind. I've been talking with my wife lately about this turn of events and I think in all reality the loss of the existing data
was a blessing in disguise. This will give me a chance to actually rebuild things the way that they were meant to be, part of which being getting rid of the dreaded
power creep that I was so guilty of. I'm not saying that I'm abandoning the advanced technology acquired through Wa-Daisho (Now called New Haven) and Desert Star's
relationship, but I do intend to tone it down a tad and try to look at it from an objective viewpoint for game balance. A few years ago I mentioned the Mighty Typhoon
campaign, with gamers moving on, we never really did accomplish much but we are preparing to start a new campaign that will bring elements of the Republic of New Haven
to Japan; Included among those going are the children of the nation's founder - Tamiya Nyan! While it may sound cheap, it's as though it was destiny that he become
ronin, to find his path, and then bring his children up with values that may well change the fate of all of Japan. Anyway, The Republic of New Haven is now available
to see for one and all, even if some of the links say Wa-Daisho, bear in mind I have a LOT of reworking to do on this website. There are also additional changes being
made with the Kingdom of Desert Star, including a substantial portion of its story, and S-Mart is being changed to the Royal Armory of Desert Star or R.A.D.S. for
short. Keep checking in and enjoy, hopefully it will enrich your' adventures and campaigns - who knows; One day you may see the Misty Isle of New Haven in a RIFTS Book
one day. 10:14PM 7/18/12 - The web site is a bit of a mess at the moment, but its mere growing pains as the vestiges of Wa-
Daisho are purged in favor of a more balanced and exciting setting that its closer to a canon stand in; The Republic of New Haven. I've been working on a lot of
illustrations as of late, revising timelines, technology, history all the while updating the military. I've also been rethinking the direction of the nation as a
whole. I have severed the relationship between New Haven and The Three Galaxies to remedy some of the power creep and stuck with existing technologies that were
borrowed from Desert Star and developed in different directions. Despite that, after the fall of Tolkeen and the granting of asylum to many Tolkeenite citizens rescued
during the fall of that Kingdom, New Haven acquired a great deal of techno-wizardry expertise that rivals if not exceeds the Hope Barony. Already elements of their
experience is being introduced to both military and civil applications. I am considering taking New Haven in a direction that might well make New Haven the first
Earthbound nation to have a presence in orbit since the cataclysm. Access to orbit would grant New Haven the ability to monitor events around the world, intercede if
absolutely necessary, and if war ever finds its ways to the shores of the Republic a shocking way to strike the enemy at will anywhere and at any time. The adventures
of the former Tolkeenite Airship, renamed the Aoikaze (Blue Wind), under the employ of New Haven have only just begun in the fated return of the Tamiya family to the
Empire of Japan. What will become of them and their involvement with Japan as a whole remains to be seen. The Kingdom of Desert Star hasn't been forgotten either but a
great deal of change is necessary there as well, some of which may even be found on those pages already. Queen Shaquela is a kind ruler and treats her citizens well
but her sympathy for those that do not enjoy the comforts of her citizens may well force the N.O.M.A.D. military to begin a campaign of expansion and a series of new
alliances that would place Desert Star as the core of a new United Kingdoms of Western America. Meanwhile trouble brews far to the south, the ancient Aztec deities
having usurped the rule of the Vampires and united them under one common banner. All signs point towards an organized invasion Northward; But why? What is their
objective and in what direction do they intend to advance? Who will oppose them, and can the feudal nations of North America repel such an invasion? Anyway, I am
continuing my work to organize New Haven and then will turn my focus towards Desert Star as I have for many years now. 10:17PM 10/12/12 - Since the loss of all of my data on Wa-Daisho/Desert Star I've been given a lot of time to think
about both settings. How much do I reconstruct? Was it as good as I had thought more than a decade ago when I initially began laying the foundations to both? Would
there have been matters I would have handled differently? Naturally new ideas and concepts have come to me in the aftermath of the catastrophic loss of data - but all
in all I don't think it was entirely a bad development. Something I hadn't mentioned before, save for in passing, is that the RRVGG is not really active anymore - I
may as well remove mention of it from the website. We grew, prospered, but then ultimately everyone went their separate ways. There were disputes over when we should
game, what games we should play, and as a result there was a split in the group that left both sides feeling somewhat sour. In the end, one side began attacking the
other with false accusations that actually endangered the host family from being split up. As enthusiastic as I am about RIFTS and Palladium RPGs in general in the end
it is just a game and nobody or their family should be put in any sort of danger for gathering to play said games. In the absence of the RRVGG is now just a small game
group composed of veteran players from my family. Some members have moved far away, others have established a new group in a community an hour away, while still others
have simply quit playing. With only my family play testing new materials its difficult to obtain an honest opinion regarding how poor or good the material actually is.
This page will likely become a test bed, a proving ground if you will, for new materials I would like to include in canon submissions. If you are interested in
becoming an official play-tester for New Haven/Desert Star story lines and/or equipment please drop me a line and I would be happy to further development, post the
materials, and mail you the addresses for these materials. Among the interesting developments that I have included thus far are a few matters, from political to
technological. I am working carefully with New Haven to further the story line of their ambition to reach orbit and parts of how they intend to achieve this feat.
Early in our campaign story line the location that would later become New Haven was the final North American battleground against the dreaded Mechanoids. With the
advent of Naruni and the Mechanoid presence a revolutionary technology that was being experimented more than two decades ago in our true to life timeline has appeared
in North America in its completed form. One of the standpoints behind the foundation of New Haven has always been adaptation and innovation to allow them an edge
against numerically and fanatically superior adversaries. Thus I have considered carefully the repercussions of granting New Haven a previously impossible ace in the
hole for RIFTS Earth; Anti-Gravity technology. While I have no intention of going overboard by suddenly giving them gravity cannons and the like, Republican Industries
has steadily been developing more practical and feasible applications of anti-gravity technology for the military. This is one of New Haven's deepest secrets,
concealed behind a web of lies suggesting that what anti-gravity capabilities they may appear to have were in fact acquired from extra-dimensional sources. I don't
intend for everything under the sun to have these capabilities, remember, the technology is closely guarded. For the moment though anti-gravity tech has been employed
in a hybrid fighter design, outnumbered by conventional fighters in New Haven's service, and will likely in time also come to play a role in their tenuous reach for
the stars. After that - it's in the air as to how far this technology will go; Quite literally. Meanwhile for Desert Star they have their own advantages. Their
development of electromagnetic weapons and propulsion systems are beyond anything like them in North America - but that is not their only advantage. The shining
Kingdom has a great deal hidden within the depths of Project Archive that have absolutely nothing to do with the plethora of pre-cataclysm tech hidden beneath its
chrome coated walls - but everything to do with the Queen's origins and the truth behind her place in her own world as well as this remote region of North America. 12:34AM 6/8/13 - Early this year my family and I were faced with a major challenge. This past winter was a harsh one
for everyone. For us, in a home literally as old as the community itself, it was simply impossible to continue residing within it. At the beginning of winter we
learned that we had a minor water leak in the pipes under the house but it didn't seem anything too dire. Despite that we contacted each of the known plumbers in the
area several times to try to obtain necessary repairs - to no avail. We were fearful though that once we had a hard freeze it could make problems impossible to make it
through. If the ground was frozen solid and liquid water was leaking onto the ground it could create a channel to our small basement. We frantically searched as
January bore down upon us but were unable to obtain the necessary repairs. The channel didn't develop as we had thought it would though. Instead an extremely cold snap
in February caused the slowly leaking pipe to burst overnight and by the following morning the basement had accumulated six inches of water, destroying the blower on
the furnace and shorting out the water heater. With our financial situation not in a comfortable enough position to have the basement pumped, the blower on the furnace
repaired, and the water heater replaced we were forced to make the hard decision to relocate to my parents home. It took nearly a week after our departure for the city
to realize that their curbside cut-off valve was not functional allowing water to build up over two feet into the basement essentially destroying the furnace in its
entirety. After examination and beginning to remove items from the home, we determined repairs for the bay window roof, which was damaged via heavy snowfall, water
damage in the bathroom from the burst pipe, heavy drain pipe repairs due to water freezing under the bathtub, in addition to furnace and water heater replacement would
likely top $8,000 in repairs. Furthermore, this summer was planned as the time in which we pay off the property taxes, which are another $700-800. We are still
considering paying off the back taxes and thus retaining the property for storage if nothing else. However the repairs would be a point in futility. Our finances
simply cannot balance that amount. Some of my important works have been transported here but thus far none of my RIFTS books have been transported. This is hoped to be
remedied within the coming weeks. I have continued to work on projects related to the Republic of New Haven and gearing it up for a hopeful world book. At present I am
working on a revised map of the capital New Haven City. This map will be far more detailed than most offered from Palladium Books and is intended to portray the
ethnicity of the groups of people that came together to create the Republic in the beginning. As is typical of my past materials surrounding New Haven's Military
Equipment, I have also begun to write up the development of the Republican Industries/L & N Electronics Hayabusa and Sea Hayabusa - a flying wing multi-role hybrid
fighter that utilizes license production engines designed for a high performance air dominance fighter in addition to a contragravity system developed via reverse
engineering Mechanoid Wasp and Naruni Crescent Moon systems. Additionally the Hachiman and Tenshi power armor are well on their way to their finishing touches.
Additionally I've been putting together the prerequisites for a scout hover tank, called the Kama, that will join the Masakari on the battlefield.
