Truewarrior R.C.C.

by Edward May and Clinton Knoell.

The Truewarriors, as they call themselves in the American tongue, are a race of humanoid aliens who stand anywhere from 6'3" to 8' in height, and bear an extremely heavy build. A human from the 20th century would equate their build to that of a winner of the Mr. Universe competition - male or female!

The people of this race are a bizarre lot, in that they use combat to solve everything. Everything being, who gets the best jobs, who gets the girl, who gets to name a child, who gets to buy that new home, etc. Ironically, aside from these ritualistic forms of fighting, Truewarriors are not a warlike race. They seldom fight to kill each other, they do not suffer from continual organized revolts, they have remained stable - and while still considered low tech by comparison to common technology on RIFTS Earth, they are doing well as a people.

Although they are not a warlike people, they pride themselves much on their ritualistic forms of combat. Honor is a big part of the ritualistic combat they enjoy so well. They do not believe in striking a fallen adversary, nor do they believe in striking a standing adversary after they have fallen. They do not believe in the use of ranged weapons, as a whole, considering their use to be dishonorable. Some clans even consider the use of hand to hand melee weapons to be dishonorable!

The biggest event to occur in the history of the Truewarrior people, was the arrival of the Consortium of Civilized Worlds. The CCW came to study the Truewarrior people and their culture, and upon establishing contact, actually offered a small number of Truewarriors the chance to leave their world to explore the cosmos as subjects of the CCW. This resulted in a widespread series of contests that ruled in favor of 150 of their people to leave their world Aiga. That was two centuries ago, according to the Terran calendar. Since that time, the offworlders have begun reproducing, and continue to hold their honor and status as warriors above all. Each young Truewarrior is brought back to their homeworld at least once in their young lives to be indoctrinated into the Truewarrior faith as a noble people, and to be taught the beliefs of their people. Some offworlders have taken up the use of ranged weapons, while serving in the Consortium Armed Forces - but only against those who use ranged weapons against them. Those who have left the CAF find Phase World to be a fascinating place to live, and an excellent place to learn trades. A few from there are even believed to have left the Three Galaxies. Only two are known to have ever visited RIFTS Earth, however.

Alignment: Any; but they typically have a very profound sense of honor.
Natural Abilities: Extremely tough bodies, supernatural strength and endurance, and the ability to block out the sensation of pain!
Appearance: Unusually tall, overmuscled human body builders.
Common Ailments: Respitory Disorders (The common cold gives these high strung armbreakers the shakes!). Cold weather (30 degrees F or lower) makes it difficult to breath for these giants.
Life Span: 45 Aiga years (Truewarrior's Homeworld.), 90 human years.
Attributes: I.Q.: 3D6, M.E.: 3D6, M.A.: 2D6, P.S.: 5D6, P.P.: 3D6, P.E.: 4D6, P.B.: 2D6+3, Spd: 3D6.
P.P.E.: 1D4.
M.D.C.: 2D6x100. (+3D6 M.D.C. per level.)
Tech Level: Aiga's tech level is roughly equivalent to Earth 17th century. Those that have left their world have gone to great lengths to understand the new technology surrounding themselves.
Magic: Magic is typically viewed with suspicion and in some cases fear. Natural development has made the Truewarriors super tough by channeling their magic potential to this feat. No matter how hard a Truewarrior were to try to perform magic, his attempts would come up short. They are simply incapable of magic.
Psionics: RARE! Only about two percent of the population possess any form of psionics, and even then only one ability may be selected from any of the three basic catagories.
Skills: Hand to Hand Expert or Martial Arts, two physicals of choice and a few various domestic skills for non combatants. O.C.C.: Any O.C.C. is available to off worlders except magic O.C.C.s, those from Aiga tend to be farmers, merchants, and similar.
Cybernetics/Bionics: None.
